Finally got my can out of jail, looking for a red dot either Vortex Viper or equivalent (RMR isn’t in the budget for a toy). 3 moa or 6 moa?

3moa, allows for more precision, still plenty quick to pick up. If you need it even faster, just turn the brightness up for a bit of bloom to simulate a larger dot.

I like the Vortex venom or viper, the Fastfire III and the c-more.

I just use a 3moa Bushnell TRS-25 on mine. Cheap and adequate if the tint on the 'glass' doesn't bother you.

I have a fastfire III on my 22/45 lite for years without any issues.

I just upgraded from a FastFire II to a Vortex Venom.

I went with 3MOA, manual brightness is key. That was really my only issue with the FF2, in certain light situations the dot would be too bright and real precision would be tough due to the bloom.

FastFire III would have worked for me too.

I put a 3 MOA RMR on mine.  Works fine but next time I'll get the 1 MOA.

3 MOA FF3 has been good to me

I prefer 2-3 MOA over the larger dots. I pick them up plenty fast and like the extra precision.

My MK II KMK512 is pre-D&T days, so I used a Weigand no-drill mount and put a PA 2moa unit on it.  Which died just out of warranty.  Got replaced with

And I'm quite happy. Thinking of getting a second Bushnell TRS-25 (another great sight in that price range, be sure it has yellow lettering) or a second AT3 unit to go on my most recent AR and setting it up to cowitness with my irons.

Okay, I desperately need to know what suppressor that is. The fitment is beautiful, and I'm getting a 22/45 tac soon and hopefully getting a trust going not long after.

Tacsol axiom.  Good suppressor and not talked about much.

I have a 3moa Vortex on mine,  It is just about right.
The MK4 is accurate enough to take full advantage on the smaller dot.

For a 22LR, 3 MOA is best IMHO.
Heres my Mark IV with a Burris FastFire III.

Came here to join the recommendation of Fastfire 3 crowd.  I ran one as a primary on my HD carbine until I got my Deltapoint Pro.  I moved the FF3 to a tactical 12 gauge and it handles full power slugs and 00B recoil just fine.  I have a target Mark II and would not hesitate to put a FF3 on it if I were to consider running it with a red dot.  My Mark II, as above is not drilled and tapped, but the idea of moving the FF3 to it is very attractive.

I wonder what kind of dovetail base plate I would need?  I could get more use from it on the Ruger.  It is spooky accurate with Eley match ammo.

The Burris mount replaces the rear sight. It's very easy to install.

Thanks!  I think I'll be joining all of you Fastfire 3 on Mark Ruger target users!  The tactical shotgun has fixed rifle sights, front and rear on the barrel and a weapon light, so  I'll just run it that way.  Thanks, OP, for starting this thread.

IIRC the FF series has its own base plate that replaces the rear sight and is much smaller than my Weigand mount.  As you can see the Weigand runs the length of the receiver, so you could use a 2 ring scope mount, etc. if desired.

I run a holosun on my Mk III 22/45 Lite.  Love it.  It's got me seriously considering going RDS on one of my GLOCKs.
