Midway free shipping turns off and on every few days. It seems to be available for about 3 days and then turns off again for a few days. If you’re on their email list, they send out notifications frequently.

The AR10 Mossberg 10rd mags they have, which were also 4.99 in the sale, were identical to the 4.99 5rd AR10 mags in the photos. The 10rd AR10 mags sold out quick but I took a gamble on the 5rd mags being easy to convert to 10.....it paid off. The 5rd AR10 mags have a u shaped limiter plate installed between the mag baseplate and the spring. Remove the base plate, the limiter pulls right out and you reinstall the baseplate. The 5rd AR15 mags appear to be a bit more of a job to return to 10rd capacity. The limiter looks to be riveted in place, which is clear from the photos primary has posted. I picked up a few of those for hunting season but won't be converting them to full capacity.. |

I don't mean to one-up MonkeyPox, but Buygunstuff.com has M2 PMAGs for $8, with almost 59,000 in stock according to their inventory. They charge $10 flat rate shipping. Having said that, they are taking a long time to ship right now based on the demand - they said they are taking about 8 business days to ship. I placed an order on March 20, and I haven't received my shipping notice yet. This was my first time ordering from them, but they have some of the lowest prices I've seen anywhere, and they are apparently good to go from what I've read here.

Not trying to turn this into a discussion thread but in case these mags show up as a "deal" in this thread...I think the info might be helpful. Mods, feel free to move it out if needs to be separated.
If any one picked up the RWB Korean made mags from Classic Firearms, they were advertised as not locking the bolt to the rear but were offered for just under $5 a mag. https://www.classicfirearms.com/ar-15-223-5-56nato-30-rd-aluminum-aftermarket-magazine-w-orange-follower-black/ I picked up a handful to mess with. The bodies and followers and springs are not manufactured to milspec. The bodies do have nice black finish. The followers a proprietary anti-tilt design. The follower is slightly undersized. Since the follower is undersized, it can shift forward in the mag body, resulting in the follower being to far forward to catch the bolt catch. You can get occasional bolt catch activation and the bolt face lugs will sometimes catch on the back face of the follower, holding the BCG to the rear until you pull the mag out of the magwell. The distance between the front of the mag and the first vertical rib, as well as the forward base plate tab, are stamped to different specs. The rib is deeper than USGI mags by just a hair but it makes a difference. The rib and the front base plate tabs are stamped in slightly different places(To far forward) compared to USGI specs. This results in a mag body that's to tight to accept Magpul USGI anti-tilt followers. It is possible to wedge a Magpul follower in but it won't move freely. The spring inside the RWB mag also will not fit on the Magpul follower. The spring top loop isn't correctly positioned to catch the molded notch on the Magpul follower. I have been able to have some success with green USGI mags fitting. Some fit without issue, others are a bit to snug to fit without a little filing. Bolt catch will work with green followers. The green followers, being slightly larger, will stay far enough to the rear of the mag to hit the bolt catch finger, locking the BCG to the rear. Setting aside the ability to activate the bolt catch, these mags do seem to function pretty well as is. Classic Firearms provided the following video when they sold these: Aluminum AR-15 Mags For How Much? Conclusion...If you come across these and you want to have bolt hold open work, pass. If you want to be able to rebuild with off the shelf parts without issue 10-20 years down the road, you may want to pass. If you want mags to train with that won't lock the bolt to the rear, these are for you. If you believe you'll be happy with mags that won't trigger the bolt hold open function for combat/duty/carry, then these are for you. RWB markings for reference: Attached File Attached File |

My order from March 20 hasn't shipped yet, and their website said they were experiencing delays of up to 3 weeks to ship early today, and this evening it says 5 weeks. Yikes. As I said, I'm not in a rush, but they must really be getting slammed with orders, or they've had to change their processes to maintain social distancing, etc. I've never seen M3 window PMAGs for as cheap as $11.81, but I think I'd rather not wait 5 weeks for my order to ship either. |
