A little while back I picked up a new right to bear 16" M4 Profile .22LR Barrel for a really good deal on the EE.

I now have my eye on their SS 22 dedicated BCG.

Does anyone use their products with the better mag adapter/S&W M&P15/22 mag combo?

I am assuming the RTB stuff should work fine, but figured I would ask here before I make my purchase.

If anyone that uses the RTB stuff with better mag can please confirm I would appreciate it.

Currently I have a milspec lower with the better mag adapter that run with a dedicated 22bcg 4.5" upper.

I would like to build a new 16" upper to run on that lower as well and not have to swap out the cmmg bcg between the two.

Thanks,
Mav

The BMA is compatible with the BoreBuddy, CMMG, RTB and PSA versions of the 22lr bolt group.  Pick your brand and go with it.

Thanks for confirming.

ETA-didn't know PSA made one too.

Damn-just placed an order with them over the weekend. I had no idea they made one. Is it any good?

Rtb bolts and barrels are great. I use Black Dogv mags however and the McFadden speed loader. I can load a 25 round mag in seconds. I love my 2 RTB .22s

Never mind the scary braces. I melted them down into prophylactics.

No idea. Mine will be here Friday or Saturday and I can compare it to a CMMG BCG. I'm 90% sure it is made by CMMG for PSA, similar to RTB's stuff being made by CMMG. However, I suppose it is possible they are making them now too.

I have one and it works great.  I swap it between a 16" PSA 22LR barrel and the CMMG 9" barrel.  I want to get another so I don't have to swap anymore.

Glad to hear. Yeah that's why I want a second one so I don't have to swap them either.

I know in the past that PSA sold 22lr bolts as their own that were made by CMMG. And looking at the photos of the PSA bolt it looks exactly the same as the RTB bolt I just bought, which is still made by CMMG.

PSA are CMMG as well.

That borebuddy bcg is really sweet-but is it worth the premium? They also have 2 different versions. The higher priced Quiet Bolt includes a Gen 2 quiet collar. Anyone know more about that?

hard to justify spending that much on it when the PSA one is only $100.

Lighting in my garage sucked tonight. Top BCG with patent numbers is the PSA, bottom is CMMG.

Left BCG is CMMG, right BCG is PSA. No idea how old the CMMG BCG is as I got it on the EE here a while back.

They are both CMMG bolts. And the PSA bolt has the patent numbers in the exact same location as the bolts Right To Bear sells as their own. CMMG is putting the numbers on top of the bolt for ones sold as CMMG bolts.

Thanks guys for posting all the pics and info showing the bolts are identical.
I am trying to decide between if it is worth the premium for the borebuddy or just get the PSA.
If anyone has the borebuddy, would love to hear what you think about it.

Are you talking about the Bore Buddy quiet bolt?

If so, I can't really see a need for it unless you are shooting suppressed and want your rifle to be as quiet as possible. But that is just my opinion and others will have different opinions. An AR22 bolt isn't loud to begin with and I would save the money and buy the PSA bolt since they all seem to be made by CMMG anyway

Correct-that one. They also sell one a higher priced Quiet Bolt includes a Gen 2 quiet collar. I do plan on shooting suppressed pretty much exclusively with it, but not sure if it is worth the price premium. Also wondering about the black-is that just like a cerakote or is that some sort of additional protective treatment like nitriding or something. I might try to call them on Monday and get more details about all of this.

I've wondered about that too.  I don't agree that the CMMG bolt is quiet.  It makes a very uncomfortably sharp, metal to metal, noise when it reaches the end of rearward travel.  A buffer in the rear solves that.  You can hear and feel the bolt bounce on a stock BCG.  High speed film of the bolt in operation with the quiet collar shows that the polymer pad also reduces that bolt bounce.  If I shot only long barrels and subsonic ammunition, I could see a point to it even without a suppressor.

Not telling you what to get, just my stray thought.

Hopefully we will see some 21" govt profile barrels for building A2 clones.
