Ordering next Friday! Hopefully it is not sold out by then LOL (eesh, tax sucks ) NVM, ordered!

It's hard to tell from the pictures and videos, but how does the glass compare with the first gen Strike Eagle?

I'm really impressed with the reticles you guys have been doing  over the years.   This scope looks like a great budget option.

Will the Platinum version have the standing ranging stadia built within the horseshoe?

Any chance of a different raptor reticle in the 1-6x?

Personally, I’d love a lightweight 1-6x platinum in a 30mm tube.

For the reticle, I was thinking one similar to the raptor in the platinum.

While I love my 1-8x platinum; in fact I sold mine so I can fund the new platinum coming out with the new reticle

However, I feel that the 1-8x is perfect for a DMR but not ideal for a fighting rifle. I think a lighter-weight, 1-6x with a 30mm Tube with platinum glass would be great.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a novice shooter and I’m just getting into training now. These are more of my initial impressions from handling the optic while mounted to my rifle.

That being said I think half the problem was that my rifle was too heavy on its own. I bought a new 14.5” rifle that’s much lighter than my 16” UBR’d recce.

Your products are amazing and come Christmas time, I will be buying the new reticle 1-8x platinum

We named the new first focal plane 1-6x the "Raptor" because the F22 Raptor is more advanced than the F15 Strike Eagle. Get it? That was Dimitri's idea.

The 1-8x Platinum featuring the ACSS Griffin reticle will be ready some time this fall, maybe even closer to Black Friday than Christmas I hope. That's a fully Japanese made scope that is built like a tank, with a 34mm main tube and amazing glass quality. The only downside is the weight-- if you want toughness and light weight, you'll pay through the nose. Even at $1300 we had to choose to make it heavier in order to get the 1-8x Platinum "duty grade" tough.

Out of curiosity, what new reticles can we expect in the 6-30x platinum? Any 6.5cm options?

Been looking for a scope with magnification to trade off my 300BLK SBR when I go to the range.
Looks like this will do nicely.

Hi Mike

Love the new Griffin FFP reticle diagram.

When you said the scope will be more weighty, how weighty are you taking?

I once bought a 22oz 1-8 Burris scope for my SBR- totally bad idea completely threw off the rifles handling; moved it to the SCAR17 thinking that would be more sane but it turned the SCAR into bloated pig as well.

After that experience I have 16oz as a preferred upper weight for a scope going on a rifle I plan to run around with. If the 1-8 is going to be as heavy as it sounds any plans to put the griffin on a lighter scope?

Mike,
any chance you guys are going to make a 1-6 Platinum version?  I think if they did it would kill the Vortez 1-6 and be a top scope.  Just checking!

Well damn, that seems like a LONG time, a lot could change in two years! Shit, I'll be expecting a 1-10 FFP ACSS by then! :D

But seriously, I've got the 1-6 SFP version now so I was hoping to get a little more power if I upgrade to the FFP model. If it's going to be 2 years then that also give you guys time to work out FDE/Bronze coloring so HOPEFULLY, it will drop on the market with that color option. The Vortex Razor HD GenII-E is SO sexy! :D

That's our goal."

In the meantime, if you can't beat 'em, you might as well sell 'em.

I do think our Platinum 1-8x is a good competitor and worth considering. You get 2x more magnification, a better reticle system (ACSS rules!), and it's also excellent Japanese glass, and roughly the same coin. So, we're in the ballpark and competing at least.

I have been saying this for a while now. I use your optics exclusively. And they are great!

What I will say is that if you could make a Platinum 1-6x 30mm tube scope with the Raptor M2 reticle, I think you would literally corner the market. Even if it weighed as much as the old Razor Gen II as opposed to the current Razor GenII-E, I think your reticle alone would make it worthwhile.

You could price it lower than your 1-8x Platinum and you would be king of the market in my honest opinion.

As a disclaimer, I used your 1-8x platinum until you announced your M2 reticle. I sold my 1-8x and now I am waiting on the Canadian distributor to bring in the M2 version. It works perfectly with my 18" SPR.
