I have a Smith and Wesson barrel that I put a free float handguard.  I reused the factory gas block that has single pin holding it in place.  I want to go with a longer handguard and I have a low pro gas block.  My question is would it be ok to change the gas block that uses a set screw and just leave the pin hole empty or should I consider another barrel?

Thanks for any help

Non issue. Swap away.

I ended up cutting the rail part off and doing a little grinding.  Worked like a champ
