I recently mounted a Vortex Viper PST 1-6 on top of my PWS rifle. When I went to zero at 100 yds with the cheap stuff first - PMC XTAC 62 gr and PMC Bronze 55g - had pretty poor accuracy with both.

Anyone else had issues with greater than 2 MOA spreads with this rifle?

Any affordable ammo recommendations that is more accurate?

I’m shooting reloads with a 1-8X24 Burris XTRII and my groups are running 0.75” to 1.5” at 100 yards and I’m thinking its’s me causing the larger groups, as I’m shooting outdoor with the temps hovering around 25*F and wind around 8 to 10 mph.  These groups are both with 77 grain Nosler and 55 grain Hornady.  I’m very happy with my PWS MK 116 M2 upper with my first 60 rounds fired.

I’ll be mounting a Leupold Deltapoint Pro with the Samson Mount next week for less weight and easier carrying.  I have an Aimpoint T1 on my other rig, so I know shooting at paper will result in larger groups but when I get a chance at a coyote, accuracy will be good enough.

Fiocchi has always been good to me.

It also check your scope mount and barrel nut torque

Yeah, first guess is NOT ammo.  Excellent suggestion above.

Thanks for the feedback - will check mount, barrel, back to the range tomorrow. Will update if any improved performance, shooter or otherwise.

How much greater than 2MOA? Xtac is close to M855 which has a 4MOA expectation. When I used to run the same ammo I would get about 2.5MOA out of a 1.5MOA gun.

I am closer to the 4MOA mark, if not greater.

With that crap ammo, I would be happy with 3” groups
My Mod 2 shot good ammo below 2”,

My upper is a recently purchased PWS MK116 M2 and a couple days ago I shot it at an indoors 100 meter range.  I used the same loads that have proven very accurate in my Huldra AR.  50 meters I was getting 0.330” to 0.480” 5-shot groups and at 100 meters I got 0.778” for my best group with the average running 1. 3” at 100 meters.  The range was/is very dark so my old 24X Leupold boosted to 32X with super fine Xhairs was fairly poor to look through, as even the light shining on the target was dim - I think with good lighting my reloads should group under an inch, as the 32X gets me smaller groups on average over the 8X Burris.

Bullets used were 52 grain Berger’s, 55 grain Hornady and 77 grain Nosler.  Powder was CFE223, VV N-135 and Win 748.  I shot from an Atlas bipod with a rear bag.

I’m sure the ammo and the rifle are better than my abilities.
I’ve seen more than a few of your posts, your abilities and frequency shooting are greater than mine.
I’ve rarely been a super consistent shooter, 2” groups are a norm for me.
1911s at 15m, one ragged, big hole.

A1911 shot free hand at 15 meters into one (big) hole is some fine shooting and not every 1911 is capable of that accuracy.  You are a good pistolero with an accurate 1911.  I can put 5 rounds in a quarter size hole (most of the time) at 50 feet benched with my Les Baer with a milled slide, Deltapoint and 2.5# trigger but off hand is a different story.  Good for you.

I have a MK114 Mod 2 and with 77 FGMM it is leases than 1 MOA.

With XM193, less than 2".

To be honest I was expecting a little better with 193, but hey, it shoots great with quality ammo and is one of the softest shooting rifles I have

My wife went with me shooting last weekend, first in a long time and she shot the rifle with my DA suppressor and looked at me and said "that's it?"

She was expecting a much larger recoil.   Then she proceeds to overheat my suppressor
