There is a M300 that is $339.

There is a M300C that is $269.

There is a M340C that is $269.

I don't understand what all the differences are. I just want a nice Surefire Mini in Tan.

Yeah, I don't know all the differences on the surefire. I just love modlight.  If you really need small arisaka.

Performance differences are huge modlight being best

No links, so going to guesstimate the first m300 for $339 is a package deal with pressure pad tape switch and pressure pad tape switch tailcap.

M300c is the standard surefire mini scout in standard mini scout body that will attach to any scout light mount.

M340c is surefire's new mini scout with integral swivel body mount that will not utilize traditional scout light mounts.

That first one is an an M300V (Vampire Light). Dual output, white and IR.  It has a head that rotates; spin it one way and the light puts out 250LM of white light when turned on, rotate it the other way and it outputs 100mW of invisible infrared Light (for nightvision goggles).  The two-battery M600V outputs 350LM/120mW of white and IR, respectively.

The second link is a normal mini scout light. (you think you want this one, but you don't)

The third link is the new body Mini scout light with low-profile mount that rotates.  (you want this one)

But really, if you're open to using 18650 batteries, Modlight is the best performer. (By a lot)

Why? I don't really see the benefit to it. I will just be mounting it to a pic rail. If anything the new swivel I think could give it one more point of coming loose.

It has what seems to be a decent adjustable offset mount already built in for a picatinny rail for the same price as the standard version. Almost everyone ends up buying an offset mount for their scout lights anyway, and it loses some versatility in mounting options because it doesn't utilize traditional scout light mounts, but if you're not looking for anything special other than offset, why not.

No idea as to the durability of the new mount though.

CD lets you forego all of the switches, tape, tail caps, wires, mounts, etc.

I think Primary Arms has FDE on sale.

I think something that's more important than having to switch over to 18650 batteries is that the owl is 11 ounces total versus the m300c's 4.1ounces total. Not saying it's a bad light, but people should be aware of it's weight.

Only knock on the Cloud is it is huge.

@KCode98

For what you plan on using it for you can't beat the Arisaka 300 series light.

Get the light then find a mount and tailcap/switch on the EE for a good price.

Unless this is a purchase driven by department/unit approval lists, nostalgia/clone, or you're getting a Vis/IR like the V units, surefire is not a good purchase at this time for these products.
