I agree

Good enough is fine I guess I have tools I use for a living and some of the stuff could be way better if I felt like upping the budget.

That's fine, you don't have to read or post in the clone threads. Some people enjoy duplicating a particular setup for whatever reason- it looks cool, it seems like a practical setup, they used it during prior service, ect.

Some clone stuff I like, some I'm not into. I do like reading the threads and it's always interesting to see what different organizations are using, particularly ones with decent training and a good budget.

When 45 came to visit my area, my team was asked to supplement (USSS just being nice) his detail.

Anyway got to chat with the CAT guys the detail was made up of guys from two separate teams. Half of them had the SR-16 with the URX quad rails the other half had just gotten new SR-16’s with “URX5” rails (I don’t actually know what the rail is designated by KAC.) The newer rifles were rocking MAWLs, I saw 2 Modlites, otherwise it was all TLR’s and maybe one or two HLX’s The older rifles had PEQ’s with a few MAWLs. I saw a mixture of Streamlight TLR’s and HLX’s. I didn’t notice any surefire.

Interestingly all the PSD agent’s SR-16’s had law folders and D60’s. At least the ones in the vehicles were set up that way. Counter Sniper guys were all rocking LPVO’s on their 16’s

Yep. The individual making the purchasing decisions comes into play as well. The USSS ran M3s and M3Xs for decades (love it or hate it, old habits die hard over there), so it makes sense that they like the TLR at a fraction of the cost of SF's X series. And while some on the team will spend personal funds on approved accessories, most of 'em just run what's issued because they're not overwhelmingly "gun guys" believe it or not.

You’ve been here too long to be posting dumb shit like this. Don’t come into clone threads if you cannot be constructive. It’s pretty easy.

Pretty sweet I need a trained German shepherd

Nothing wrong with cloning down to the roll pins if one desires. I love when guys clone exactly what they carried over seas but definitely not downgrading anything because a certain agency issues a certain item.

When KAC did there final release of the SS SR16 CQB turn ins I HAD to have one. For a KAC 'fanboy' its not only a Clone but also a piece of history. I have many other Milspec Clones but my SS SR16 CQB SBR Clone is my absolute favorite firearm and this sucker just performs no matter how hard I run it!

Surprised no one's flamed the GG&G Multi-Flex for their (then) PVS-14s yet. They ran that setup for probably around a decade.

Some of those photos had what looks like aimpoint m2/m3s and fixed FSPs. Are those newer or older photos? I figured they'd have flat tops by now. NVM they are flat tops indeed.

They should be making the switch to 19s.  I know they piggybacked off the CBP Glock contract for 47/19/26s

Me too, though I've always been curious about PMAG's (60rd?) drum mag reliability.  Personally it looks a little like overkill, though they may know something the rest of us don't...or didn't at the time of the pic.

The D60 is pretty reliable. The Surefire 60rd not so much.

TLR isn’t my choice of Streamlight.

It’s an easy mistake. I had to really look at it, but once that battery cap for the fake Eotech is noticed, it’s all I saw.
