The fun one is if you have a Mod 0 with the longer screws. They all bottom out on the gas tube.

No page ownage with an edit, but top of the board needs pics.

Three or four different rifles in various stages of non-spec.  And one of the above pretty well buttoned up save the sling setup.

I shot again today - I had torn down the upper basically and rebuilt it, and remounted/re torqued the scope/rings as well.  It shot better for sure - I got some 2 moa goups with BH 69gr TMK (I never really cared for 69's though), and 1.5" groups with MK262 Mod 1 @ 100.  Wolf still kinda sketchy, about 3moa.  Just don't know if this is a good as it gets, or if I should keep chasing.  I just don't know if the Pri/Bergara would do any better tbh.

See this is the problem shooting Bolt/Precision and then flipping to AR's - when you don't see that .5" group you think somethings wrong lol.

On the plus side, sighted in the PA Raptor on my cheapO Andro 300BLK 8" upper and it will put 5 in one hole at 50 yards lol.

3 moa w/ Wolf or m193 is doing good.
My barrels are picky about 69gr, they hate all of it except IMI.

Is this a design flaw or is someone just using the wrong screw on these and its hitting the gas block?

On the Mod 0 I see PRI has a Natural CF Handguard Option? Are they just painted black otherwise?

I'd say it's a combo of tolerances stacking up and causing interference.

Yep, base color, and a light dusting as the final layer to try and soften any hard pattern lines. It is my favorite color to use, and is the base coat for pretty much every one of my guns that gets painted.

We all start somewhere. Some easy tips:

Check out slim0428's photo just a few posts above. This is a good example of where to start.

Find an area with natural light, outdoors after sun-up or before sun-down are best. Direct noon light is brutal, indoor light is too dark.
Find a simple background in this light
Lay the rifle flat on it, or slightly propped up with something behind it
Stand above the rifle, between it and the light source, so it is illuminated in your photo, note your shadow and keep it out of frame
If you are using a phone, hold it steady and tap the screen to focus the camera on the rifle
Center the rifle in the frame, don't use any odd angles yet, simple is best when starting out.
Take the photo without shaking or moving the camera/phone

When editing the photo do not apply general filters from an app, most of them are garbage.
You can use the crop/rotate feature to straighten the photo.
Use the "light" and "color" meters/slides to get the photo color balance closer to what you see with the naked eye. Do not go crazy with this, little adjustments are best.

That's about it to get passable quality photos. Once you master the basics then you can start to break from the mold and do artsy photos. Until then, simplest is often best.

Cage code sticker and late Colt ambi selector are way out of place on an A1 lower. If that were an M4A1 lower it would be another story though.

I grabbed one, thinking about building up another Mod 1 upper...

Damn, now I need a barrel...

Douglass, Criterion, WOA, BA, Green Mountain... so many to chose from.  When I built my first one there were hardly any lol.

My initial thought is to just grab a Douglas 17.9" CLE Match Chamber bead blast finish, but with so many choices now maybe I need to research a bit more.

Gotta search outside the box. I got a Mk4 3.5-10 x 40 illuminated mildot (sku 53672 built 2004) for $750 on another website. Mk4s were used on other military rifles besides the Mk12 and there are cloners on those other related websites.

Yeah I'll be rolling the same, i had the 2.5x8 before and to be honest it's really just not a good fit for the MK12 Mod0/Mod1.  Fine for an H with recce rail though.  the 3.5-10 or NF 3-15 F1 is where it's at for these babies :).

Whoa Colt uppers don't last long in the EE lol... I did fine one stripped square forge but it's got I guess a cage code or something dot-matrixed into the side of the upper... I guess that's new?

Shark Arms is out as well.  I swear I had a colt upper set aside but I can't find it now. 4 lowers... sure.  Uppers nada.

Where to get one these days - anyone got an extra they aren't going to use? Got one, thanks @JLAudio

I've had good luck on gun forums that "look down" on the M16/AR15 platform. I have bought complete Colt uppers for less than $500, part out the barrels, FSB, handguards, and charging handle for $250-300 and have an upper, C stamped BCG, and MPC marked bolt for under $200.

Like I said earlier, look outside the box (ARF), there are still deals out there.
