I used an unmarked KAC front sight, NOS 2006 long clamp sling mount, and an early KAC bipod adapter with the logo on the bottom. Harris bipod is complete with an original NOS 2007 Pod Loc. https://i.imgur.com/VWV2Gidh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/bBogrsWh.jpg The scope is a 2007 dated USMC issued Leupold 2.5-8 that another member here rehomed, complete with its original A.R.M.S. 22H rings. I added some NOS 2006 dated Butler Creek covers to it since they're often shown in original photos. https://i.imgur.com/H0S5WpXh.jpg Charging handle is an early laser marked example (no lot code and old web address) with the roll-pinned parkerized latch. Seems to have the same slight purple hue to the ano as the rail and the bipod adapter. https://i.imgur.com/tlguaphh.jpg Early Titusville FF RAS in all its glory. https://i.imgur.com/r2bCD5vh.jpg From what I can gather, the stamped C keyhole uppers supplanted the raised C keyhole in late 2006/early 2007 -- is that correct? I used a stamped C upper mated to an Intl Mil Co H&R lower on this build. https://i.imgur.com/otGmgLI.jpg Thanks to everyone here who shared knowledge and helped source components for this. All parts are NOS or used originals, save for the barrel (Douglas from HCS), lower (Intl Mil Co), brake/collar (Allen Engineering), and some of the paperwork (Modern Arm Resources). Still a few more things to go -- need to trade out the 2004 issued Pelican case for a later USMC issued example and track down an original Ops Inc brake and collar -- but it finally feels close enough to start calling it done. Is there anything I'm missing (other than the suppressor) or got wrong? View Quote That's a fantastic build! |

Can someone point me in the direction of a period correct weapon light for a late mod1. Also is there modern head compatibility for old bodies to get some more HP? Not on the up and up for older lights. Thanks!

Question for the brain trust: were the BCGs for Mk12s taken directly from the rifle that supplied the donor lower? I.e., would a Colt lower have a Colt BCG, H&R gets an H&R BCG, etc? Or were newer M16 BCGs used to build the rifles? I feel like I read this once but can't seem to remember now. |

How loose or tight is the Allen Engineering collar supposed to be? I've read people needed to use heat to install, mine are spinning freely on both barrels.
I know - degrease, put loctite on inside of collar, tighten set screw, maybe even dimple barrel ever so slightly. I'm just wondering how it SHOULD be and if it might affect suppressor use in the end. My barrels are Ballistic Advantage SS Premium (I know, don't start. I have my reasons) and the collars/brakes are genuine. My MK12 saga has been going on for some years, put on hold several times d/t change of employers, then C19 related unemployment. But now I'll pull through and get them finished |

All of mine went on similarly (2 BA, 2 Douglas). Not loosey goosey, but not tight. I ended up putting a small indent/dimple on 2 of my barrels to keep the collar from spinning, but otherwise, they've all been good for me |

To get really in to the fine details on them, you want one marked like the upper right in this pic vs the lower left.
