The late Mk12 Mod 1 kit is 99% there. Sort of the build of Theseus at this point with how many parts I've changed out since I started.

I'm at 163 days now on the AEM5, hoping I can bring it home soon.

I think these early Titusville rails are pretty cool -- I've only seen one original photo that shows one of these...a later Mod 1 that looks like a ~2007 build from the scope and other parts. I used an unmarked KAC front sight, NOS 2006 long clamp sling mount, and an early KAC bipod adapter with the logo on the bottom. Harris bipod is complete with an original NOS 2007 Pod Loc.

The scope is a 2007 dated USMC issued Leupold 2.5-8 that another member here rehomed, complete with its original A.R.M.S. 22H rings. I added some NOS 2006 dated Butler Creek covers to it since they're often shown in original photos.

Charging handle is an early laser marked example (no lot code and old web address) with the roll-pinned parkerized latch. Seems to have the same slight purple hue to the ano as the rail and the bipod adapter.

Early Titusville FF RAS in all its glory.

From what I can gather, the stamped C keyhole uppers supplanted the raised C keyhole in late 2006/early 2007 -- is that correct? I used a stamped C upper mated to an Intl Mil Co H&R lower on this build.

Thanks to everyone here who shared knowledge and helped source components for this. All parts are NOS or used originals, save for the barrel (Douglas from HCS), lower (Intl Mil Co), brake/collar (Allen Engineering), and some of the paperwork (Modern Arm Resources). Still a few more things to go -- need to trade out the 2004 issued Pelican case for a later USMC issued example and track down an original Ops Inc brake and collar -- but it finally feels close enough to start calling it done.

Is there anything I'm missing (other than the suppressor) or got wrong?

Can someone point me in the direction of a period correct weapon light for a late mod1. Also is there modern head compatibility for old bodies to get some more HP? Not on the up and up for older lights. Thanks!

Anyone know where I could get a ARMS 32 Bipod adapter, not for an arm and a leg. Want to replace my KAC bipod adapter

So what here is correct for a late mod 0?

Square grayish or round deep black profile?

Of course I need to find a KAC mount.

The square grey swivel would be correct for all flavors of Mk12, if I’m not mistaken.

Finished a little side project recently that I figured some of y'all might like. It's my take on a mini Mk12 similar to what Silencerco did a while back. It started when I found a Vero Beach Too Long RAS and I figured I had to do something "productive" with it. Chambered in 300BLK, should be pretty fun with subs!

Thanks, I definitely tried to go "full stupid" on it tracking down all the parts I wanted to use. Was really glad to find the Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5x24 and the PEQ-5 as mini stand-ins for the regular Mark 4 and PEQ-2.

Not a bad looking bunch...

Question for the brain trust: were the BCGs for Mk12s taken directly from the rifle that supplied the donor lower? I.e., would a Colt lower have a Colt BCG, H&R gets an H&R BCG, etc? Or were newer M16 BCGs used to build the rifles? I feel like I read this once but can't seem to remember now.

From what I've seen it's a mixture of M16A1 and new bolts with the vast majority being new.

I hear ya.  Took a long time for me to warm up to the mod 1.  Still not my fav and is likely the least interesting to me out of the program.  Those rails have gotten insane now days.  Glad I was able to get it built back when I did.

How loose or tight is the Allen Engineering collar supposed to be? I've read people needed to use heat to install, mine are spinning freely on both barrels.

I know - degrease, put loctite on inside of collar, tighten set screw, maybe even dimple barrel ever so slightly. I'm just wondering how it SHOULD be and if it might affect suppressor use in the end.

My barrels are Ballistic Advantage SS Premium (I know, don't start. I have my reasons) and the collars/brakes are genuine.

My MK12 saga has been going on for some years, put on hold several times d/t change of employers, then C19 related unemployment. But now I'll pull through and get them finished

Is it all the KAC long FF RAS’s or just the Vero Beach ones? I think I only paid like $250 for my Titusville marked FF RAS on my Mod 1.

All of mine went on similarly (2 BA, 2 Douglas). Not loosey goosey, but not tight. I ended up putting a small indent/dimple on 2 of my barrels to keep the collar from spinning, but otherwise, they've all been good for me

I was considering having CLE spin me up a douglas and cut it 15.1, as I've heard they've done that for people in the past. But...I've also heard that they aren't what they used to be (correct me if I'm wrong, I'd like to hope they're still as good as they were when I bought)

To get really in to the fine details on them, you want one marked like the upper right in this pic vs the lower left.

CLE is still owned by the White Family. Franks son, Conrad, is now in charge. He was there before he went into the Army. His last tour was with the AMU in the armory building guns.  I don’t think you will have an issue.
