How are those Sig optics? I'm going to replace my LPVO on my URG-I inspired build and it's in the consideration.

What mount height is issued with the ATACRs? Also, I assume lately it's been the NF Ultramounts vs. Geissele mounts?

There's an archived review on them, which says they're pretty good. Better battery life than EXPS3, but a lot heavier. Supposedly more robust, according to a video review on YouTube. I just got mine a few days ago, but haven't got around to mounting it or testing it out. |

The EXPS3 is supposed to be better than the T2 for night vision and the Romeo8T is supposed to be even better than the EXPS3 for night vision, but the T2 does still work for night vision. The Romeo8T sounds great, but its listed weight might make seem like a brick. |

Specs say it's only about 2oz heavier and don't even notice it holding in hand and comparing back to back. I did some (handheld) testing at night comparing both. Glass size is about the same. Romeo8T window did seem a little darker due to the coating AR coating on the objective lens. Attached File |

I just got mine a few days ago, but haven't got around to mounting it or testing it out. Actually, I was thinking about the Tango LPVO, but the Romeo8T is pretty interesting. I really liked the FFP contract tango 6t, have no experience with the sfp socom tango 6 scope. The reticle is perfect for anything you would ever do with a 556 gun. The glass was nice, transmission was really good. My only complaint is the “daylight bright” illumination needed to be one setting brighter than its max in midday Texas sun. Not the end of the world since the reticle is still super fast without illumination at all. That may be a bigger issue for some, but I shoot LPVOs on 1x without illumination turned on probably 90%+ of the time. Makes using them with illumination literally cheating. Honestly, I think the reticle in the FFP 6t (I think they call it the DWLR-556… whichever one is the center horseshoe with a bdc windage tree below for m855a1) is my favorite 556 LPVO reticle. If I could snap my fingers and put that reticle in my nx8, I would do it without hesitation. @Dobs013 and I have discussed my over the top love for this reticle too many times. |

View Quote I shoot my old Burris 1-4 almost exclusively with the dot turned-off. I think the only time I turn it on is to check if the battery is still good (3 years old so far). I'll have to check out that reticle. I'm concerned with a large center point making it a little more difficult to test new ammo with grouping. I have the MTAC currently with the CQC reticle, and while it's a simple reticle, the center aiming point is 2 MOA and not very precise. |

Weird question for the armorers out there, and this seemed the best place to ask. Are there any cases of the new DD barrel being installed but using the old RIS II instead of the Mk13 rail? Sorry for the ignorance, I don't know how much leeway is allowed the individual units/armorers.
