Fingers crossed. DD allowed me to place an order for a 14.5” GOV profile w/ lopro gas block. I fully expect it to be out of stock by the time they go to full fil it, but it was worth a shot.

Anyone have the ability to get a weight on their brand new 13.5 MK16 WITH the barrel nut. This is for the guys who just recently received them from retailers or Geissele directly.
I'm pretty sure these used to be advertised as 6061 and it even says as much on PA and others, but Geissele's site is claiming 7000 series. They're not answering the inquiry posted on their industry forum even though they were tagged. I'd like to see if your weight matches with the advertised weight on their site and what mine are from a while back or if yours are heavier and their advertised weights are "old". |

What's the story/reasoning between some of the mk16 rails being NSN marked vs those that aren't?
I've got a 9.3" NSN marked on a 10.3" build but i'd like to locate an NSN marked 10.5. Is it just luck of the draw? |

There are photos gov 13.5 URGIs with no NSN. After the NSN was assigned for the rail itself they started showing up in the wild. As far as the 10.5 rail (for the 11.5), the NSN has never been seen up to this point. At least that I'm aware of. |

Emailed Geissele and they say that they have been using the updated 7k series aluminum for some time. I pressed to see if the 2019 BF Near-Clone uppers had the updated 7k series mk16, and they said probably not. Also, they could not specify what iteration of 7k aluminum was used. They confirmed the old style was 6061, and that the barrel nuts between the two remained unchanged.

Anyone have a lead on a clone correct upper receiver (Mueller, Cerro, etc) that isn’t $300 at Charlie’s? Might just roll the dice with a $135 Colt, but wanted to make sure I’m not missing any similarly priced/cheaper options that would be better.

Since others have been looking for them, I just got an insert free 10.5 MK16 from Brownells’ latest shipment. This one is a darker shade than the one from Primary, and has the grey streak down both sides:
(PA top vs Brownells on bottom)  Top matches the ACH I have, so that’s what I’m keeping. Ordered a 13.5 MK16 and Federal MK4 with their Memorial Day coupon, so we’ll see if any of those come without the inserts too. |
