Just over 500 rounds this week. Should be another 300-500 this week. I swear my RIS II got hotter. Only two mags were unsuppressed. The can is getting really hard to put back on after shooting and if I try to force it almost impossible to get off. I’ve never cleaned it.

Guys, I am completely blown away by retro arms pin and weld job. At first I though he just sent it back to me without doing any work .

I really want my RC2....this gun is so fun. I need to shoot more to decide if I want to switch the LPVO out for a T1 and magnifier, though.

Leave that one like that. Put T1 on the 11.5 build you are going to do next.

Arms Unlimited. Full auto selector, just use a file and file the nub down to make it semi auto. I have 4 or 5 of them I need to file down this weekend.

Has anyone purchased a Colt FA ambi selector from Brownells recently? I’d like to know for sure if it comes with 2 long levers. The last 2 I ordered from them on 3/18/21 came with 1 long and 1 short lever.

I figured that was a screw up on the Q&A on Brownells site, Thanks.

Edit- I ordered 2 from Brownells after my buddy got screwed from AU and they were correct. I haven’t seen or heard of any Colt ambi coming with 2 long levers from Brownells.

Glad to hear.

Regarding AU, I've heard pretty hit and miss reviews about products as advertised(especially Colt) arriving to patrons.

AU has been good to me. I've bought some rare things from them without knowing what to expect. Best example is a Colt M16A1 retro reissue lower they split from a full gun and randomly posted on their website without pictures.

The safeties via the link I posted are GTG. The last 2 from Brownells i ordered have a F stamp on the face of them. The last 4 from AU do not but are clearly Schmid parts with the S. Odd seeing Colt parts with a F stamp  on them?

Has anyone seen the new m231 eotech on these yet? Got a couple from a well connected friend; and thinking about building one of these if they’re correct for the URGI. Seems like that eotech contract is pretty new.

ETA: It looks like it might just be an EXPS 3-0. Strange that they would give it another nomenclature when it already exists in the system.

Hey guys, could use some advise. I got the DD barrel pinned assembly in and I’m simply trying to take out the half inserted taper pin out so I can put on the barrel nut. I’ve tried oil, heating it, and using nail pins to knock this thing out with some pretty hard strikes with the hammer. I’m mushrooming the nail pins. And now I am concerned I’m doing it wrong here.  Anyone else run into this?

Are you driving it from the correct (small) end? Do you have the gas block up against something very solid?

I think so. The pin comes half way inside the gas block assembly. So I’m knocking it out from inside so hard to tell which is bigger. Assuming this is the smaller end of the pin as I would not think DD would send it fully seated. Put another way I am hammering the pin so that it would push out through the ejection port side. I’ve just never had so much trouble with a simple pin.
Link Posted: 2/12/2022 8:25:01 PM EDT
[#43]
On hard taper pins I have had to clamp the barrel on to a piece of hard wood and place everything on a concrete floor before using a big fucking hammer full force.

But I’ve never had to do that with a new factory barrel with the pin partially installed.

The pin was all the way to the end of the block. I’ll call it 75% in. Perhaps I just need to clamp it down and make sure the gas block is more secure. I’m using a multi surface AR block to hammer it on. Not my first rodeo with a pinned gas block either. I wish DD would just drill on his thing and keep the pin separate. Other manufacturers do that. Or maybe I just need to hit it with my purse!

I had a Eotech EXPS 2 I purchased from MidwayUSA a few years back with the same hole in the hood.  I’m not a Eotech dude so I didn’t realize it was unusual.  Should’ve kept it, could’ve asked a premium now lol.

Without going back and reading through this whole thread, did the URGI officially get adopted? I remember a few years ago I saw some controversy regarding adoption.
