Very nice. The @megasexual one does fine work. I highly recommend his improved version of the Magpul QD cups for fixed stocks, as his offer limited rotation. I have a set of those on the recce build I posted with CMR midlength cutout and A.R.M.S folding FSB. Can be found in the EE in his mile-long thread. Must have sold a thousand of them by now!

(Can't remember if I already plugged before, but I'm still loving them, so who cares?!)

Got it in today.

BCM LW Barrel with FSB and MCMR 9 inch rail. The Lightweight barrel really makes such a bigger difference than I anticipated when compared to my govt profile barrel on my other upper.

A 9” MCMR on that LW upper would be cool as fuck.

The man does not waste time, folks.

Looks good, my friend. I hereby dub thee, "The Fixed-Stock Flyweight!"

Slow controlled strings of fire with a barrel like that will help keep the groups from opening up. This is also another good candidate for the @megasexual one's QD cups on the stock.

Just waiting on my Colt Socom to get here and I'll be chopping an Armalite SR25 fiberglass tube to carbine length!

I have recently chopped a fsp and stuck a rail over it.

The 6944 ain't going anywhere, though it only kinda counts for this thread. I mean it has a front sight pinned to the barrel, right? I moved the Comp M4s to another rifle and am dipping my toe into the LPVO game.

It desperately needs an Aimpoint. I can't bring myself to slap my TRS-25 on it and disrespect the A.R.M.S. S.I.R. #45M like that.im just going to run irons on it for the time being. It's a tank for sure, but a comfortable tank. Imagine if Charmin made tank seats weight up front mitigates most all recoil.

I've done em all over the years and its simple, easy, and just as effective.

The Centurion C4 series and the LaRue Mlok rails have become my favorite. Still have a Centurion carbine cutout for it, but like this one better actually.

Had to chop a little of the rail, and cut the sling ears off, but the fit is glorious.

Did this a few years back, this was actually one of the first "in the white" Transformer rails off the machine (I designed it with Manticore, my first product) that I felt I HAD to fit on to my first AR build (RRA 20" I built in 07 or so, since rebarreled with an FN barrel).

It's pretty special to me, and over the Christmas break I'm going to refresh the whole thing now that my skillset is a bit highter.

I am still fairly new to the AR world only within the last 2 years or so, but really have become a big fan of BCM. Great cost to quality ratio, especially with Colt's astronomical prices right now. I still need a rear sight. Will probably go Magpul pro instead of Troy/BCM that my other rifle has. Those are a bit bulky for my taste.

Well in that case, you're definitely starting off strong with BCM. For rear sights, I have builds with both of those brands. Magpul Pros are great, but some folks don't like them due to the lack of the M4 style "wings". Bottom line... it's called a "Backup Iron Sight" for a reason... it's a backup to your primary optic. Zero once, then you have them if you ever need them. Either option will serve you well, in that regard.

Keep with it, and welcome to the party. Happy New Year!

Here's my budget Cali legal build.  It had a fat, heavy, non-FF MI quad rail, and I had this nice slender DD Omega X Rail 12.0 FSP in the spares bin.  Base upper is a J&T post-ban from back in 2008-ish, with a 16" Shaw HBAR.  No muzzle device, pinned stock, Sparrow Dynamics grip to make it California legal, and a shiny new Burris RT-6 to try out the new generation LPVOs.

I put a matech rear on it. I might put an A.R.M.S. #38-EX on there to bring up the ACOG. I've got a long neck and head so having it up higher is never a bad thing for me. This build is quickly becoming my favorite, though!
