I agree. Most likely early to Mid-90s. They did not start them until about 1991 or 92.

It has a Sear Block, and a threaded A2 flash hider. The barrel has the lug machined down. My thoughts are it is a Pre-ban gun, due to the FH that is threaded on. Ive seen post ban HBar's with barrels with no FH at all.

Whats a NOS MP C marked barrel worth to you guys? It still has the wick in the barrel and is stripped so no other parts on it. Deciding to keep it as is or make a rifle out of it

I was saying that if it didn't have either barrel extension and FSB (bare barrel), $200. If it has barrel extension but no FSB, $250-$300, because one would have to find the correct FSB and send it off to have it mounted correctly. If it has both the extension AND FSB, $350-$400.

I’ll never sell the one I got. I had to buy a whole rifle off the EE just to get one to build my 602. I had to tell a member I dissected and sold a lot of his prized rifle parts to get my 602 build. I bought his prized very very early 604 off the EE for like $2200 bucks!. I would have never been able to complete that build without it though. He asked me about. I fell kinda bad about parting it up and selling it.

I have a couple stripped A1 uppers that I am trying to assign a value. They are stripped 603 style [A1 sights, FA]. No forge codes on carry handle or under sight and nothing ahead of the ejection port. Recessed port doors. Counter bored front left on the lugs which are black. Light gray finish which shows light wear from storage but they appear to have never been assembled due to no wear inside receiver from ch and no wear in the ch latch on the outside. I am assuming they are Colt but I am not a retro guru. I believe they are round forge but I'm having a hard time finding pics that confirm it 100%. I can post pics if needed.
Can I assume they are Colt made based on my description? Approximate value? Thanks Attached File |

What about a C MP C barrel that looks like it has a cast FSB?

[#28]
Getting ready to sell my m16a1 barrel curious what is a realistic price. This is a CMP B barrel, 1:12 twist, but sadly was cut down to 18in. No flash hider. Has original .625 non F front sight block with A1 sights, sling swivel, but no bayonet lug 'cut off'. No gas tube or pin. Has barrel nut and triangular cap. Bore is decent. This thing was a post ban assembly of original M16A1 parts, done by CIA back in 1996. So they neutered the bayonet lug. But previous ownership in the glorious state of NY, had the flash hider removed. Barrel is now 18in as result. Has been recrowned too.
So just curious what would be a fair price. I guess in hindsight, it's a ban state compliant barrel, if that makes any difference in value. |

Am looking at a colt upper forge marks C , H . It's a front large hole, C7 configuration but rear sight adjustment is a knurled knob with numbers at the stops. Has teardrop FWD ASST. 6 hole carbine handguards , 16" barrel is marked cmp 5,56 nato ,1/9 , HBAR. Has BCG and charge handle. It appears near new . Thinking of buying it and parting it out toward a nice 16" SP1 1/12 carbine assy. Anyhow what is it's realistic value ?.

On the one I sold, I couldn't because my screws were seized and I didn't want to break it - probably why I sold for less than I should have. View Quote |
