I agree. Most likely early to Mid-90s. They did not start them until about 1991 or 92.

It has a Sear Block, and a threaded A2 flash hider. The barrel has the lug machined down. My thoughts are it is a Pre-ban gun, due to the FH that is threaded on. Ive seen post ban HBar's with barrels with no FH at all.

Only the lower and BCG are SP1.  Also someone took the Colt SP1 lower parts out and put a newer hammer and tick mark safety in it.  ColtSP1 hammers have a notch on the nose.  The upper is a standard late model 603 M16 Upper.  You can tell it is not a transitional SP1 with a forward assist because it has that funny offset screw to adapt the SP1 lower to the small hole 603 upper.  Ditch the A2 grip, though, and its not a bad outfit to have.

Whats a NOS MP C marked barrel worth to you guys? It still has the wick in the barrel and is stripped so no other parts on it. Deciding to keep it as is or make a rifle out of it

When you say no other parts, do you mean no front sight base and no barrel extension?  If so, a couple hundred, maybe.  If it has FSB and Barrel extension, $350 to $400 + or -.  They don't get pricey until you go back to pre chrome barrels.

Yes it has the extension to it but a NOS barrel with the wick is $200?.....

I was saying that if it didn't have either barrel extension and FSB (bare barrel), $200. If it has barrel extension but no FSB, $250-$300, because one would have to find the correct FSB and send it off to have it mounted correctly. If it has both the extension AND FSB, $350-$400.

I'd say a good 150-185 on a good day. Brownells had them for 185 a while ago. Fulton has similiar ones with the gas tube hole for 125 new.

I saw one sell like 2 years ago for IIRC 800 on gb. It might have been a bidding war though

Last one I bought was about $450, but that was a few years back.  I think I remember that auction, now that you mention it.  GB is a good place if you are selling, as it will rise to its market value.  Start with a $500 price, with an $800 buy it now?

I’ll never sell the one I got. I had to buy a whole rifle off the EE just to get one to build my 602. I had to tell a member I dissected and sold a lot of his prized rifle parts to get my 602 build. I bought his prized very very early 604 off the EE for like $2200 bucks!. I would have never been able to complete that build without it though. He asked me about. I fell kinda bad about parting it up and selling it.

I have a couple stripped A1 uppers that I am trying to assign a value.  They are stripped 603 style [A1 sights, FA].  No forge codes on carry handle or under sight and nothing ahead of the ejection port.  Recessed port doors.  Counter bored front left on the lugs which are black.  Light gray finish which shows light wear from storage but they appear to have never been assembled due to no wear inside receiver from ch and no wear in the ch latch on the outside.  I am assuming they are Colt but I am not a retro guru.  I believe they are round forge but I'm having a hard time finding pics that confirm it 100%. I can post pics if needed.

Can I assume they are Colt made based on my description?  Approximate value?  Thanks

Just make sure you don't choose the highest Gunbroker price, and base your price off of that.

I checked there but most are used with forge codes and are complete with FA, sights, port door....I read the ones without the forge codes are worth a little more but mine are not complete.  Mine look like they have not been built on but are stripped.  Do you think they are colt based on my description?  Thanks

They are earlier Colt 603 uppers.  Because they appear to be NOS and never installed, I still think you could get $200 to $225, even though they are stripped.

Getting ready to sell my m16a1 barrel curious what is a realistic price. This is a CMP B barrel, 1:12 twist, but sadly was cut down to 18in. No flash hider. Has original .625 non F front sight block with A1 sights, sling swivel, but no bayonet lug 'cut off'. No gas tube or pin. Has barrel nut and triangular cap. Bore is decent. This thing was a post ban assembly of original M16A1 parts, done by CIA back in 1996. So they neutered the bayonet lug. But previous ownership in the glorious state of NY, had the flash hider removed. Barrel is now 18in as result. Has been recrowned too.

So just curious what would be a fair price. I guess in hindsight, it's a ban state compliant barrel, if that makes any difference in value.

Trying to determine the current value of these three, haven't had much luck finding comparables. Thanks.

1. XM177E2 clone; NDS A1 upper & E1 lower; Bushmaster (pre Freedom Group) barrel (barrel & threads extend to slots in perm attached flash suppressor for “Hollywood” style BFA); Colt BCG; EA Co. 2 position stock assembly; delta ring, trigger guard, and charging handle anodized by US Anodizing to match receivers. Unfired.

2. M16A1 clone, NDS A1 lower, surplus Colt M16A1 upper bought in the early 2000’s when they were released by the US military, chrome chamber barrel (marked MP at front sight, C near muzzle) bright shiny bore, Colt BCG, solid rubber buttplate stock.

3. Colt 601 green stock

Colt upper. I believe it to be NIB/never fired, although I did test fit it to a lower and drop a BCG group into it one time.

It it has been in my closet for years, and needs to find a new home.

I'd say low end 550, medium 600-620. 300 for the barrel 250 for the upper. Thats the prices I would've paid during the summer.

Am looking at a colt upper forge marks C , H . It's a front large hole, C7 configuration but rear sight adjustment is a knurled knob with numbers at the stops. Has teardrop FWD ASST. 6 hole carbine handguards , 16" barrel is marked cmp 5,56 nato ,1/9 , HBAR. Has BCG and charge handle. It appears near new . Thinking of buying it and parting it out toward a nice 16" SP1 1/12 carbine assy. Anyhow what is it's realistic value ?.

Picked up 3 barrels today.   One FNMI.  In nice shape.    The other two I’m confused on.   A and B.   They are only stamped with a two number code followed by a letter.   Front sights are smooth.

Barrel extension is roll pined in place.

Any idea on who made them.  And possible value.

I recently sold one at $75 a few months back.  But honestly, that would probably been on the low end.  I'd say right now, $100-$125 is about right as many don't even realize this is a completely different HG then the regular 6-hole. If you got one where the screw aren't seized, take a picture with the leaf removed.  On the one I sold, I couldn't because my screws were seized and I didn't want to break it - probably why I sold for less than I should have.
