Here's the one I assembled today. Blackhole Weaponry 20" barrel was used, bought from a friend. I hope to get some trigger time soon.

Not sure which lower I'm going to use for my 12".

Really digging the ambient bolt catch features of the ADM lower.  Wish I would have ordered 3 of them at the Black Friday deal.

12" Faxon barrel with 5R EE rifling, nitrided, SAAMI chamber.

Bootleg Adjustable Carrier, nitrided.

I have an AA upper and Precision Firearms lower that fit super tight.

Will be using a LaRue MBT-2S trigger.

SB Tactical FDE pistol brace in the pic.  FDE Maxim Defense Brace on SHOT Show deal ordered as well.

Looking at the new NF NX8 or March 1-8 Shorty for optics.

Just got in some Nosler 130gr RDFs with crazy high BC.

Imagine a 12" AR15 that is easily supersonic at 1000yds....

What kind of speed do you guesstimate for that 130 from your 12.5?   I extrapolated from max loads from a nosler 129 for speed.  It showed a 1200fps at 850.  Would like to get some closer to real world speed though.

At least 2200fps mv, if not 2250-2275.  Doesn't matter a lot when you look at the BC.

I'm not even using G1, but the G7 of .307, which is still a static BC, so we'll see in reality, but given what I've seen with some of the 123gr bullets already with the lowest BCs in 6.5mm staying predictable out to at least 1200yds from a 16" Grendel, the 130gr RDF absolutely smokes them in the aerodynamic efficiency department.  I've seen one detailed analysis so far verifying the advertised BC of the 140gr RDF out to 1455yds, and it was dead-on.  Dude's vertical looked to be within maybe 5" at that distance with consistent, repeated hits on steel from a .260 Rem.

At sea level, the 130gr RDF keeps you supersonic over 1000yds with a 2250fps mv, from a 12" barrel.

At the lowest altitudes I shoot in Utah (4400ft), I'm looking at supersonic to 1200yds from a 12" PDW package.

At the intermediate altitudes I shoot in Utah (6600ft), it's supersonic to 1300yds.

These barrels were cut with a 5R Easy Engraving rifling so there should be more room to play with looking a case capacity, so maybe an additional 40-50fps I'm expecting compared to standard rifling, so that could mean more room for nodes at the higher end.  We'll see.

If I were to shoot the same bullet from the 22" Grendel at 6600ft, I'm looking at 1525yds supersonic reach.  At sea level, the 22" with a 130gr RDF would be super to 1200yds with a 2500fps mv.

You start to see why I haven't shot my .260 Rem in so long, especially when I've been getting first-round hits and even rapid-fired sub-MOA 6rd groups at 1000yds with a very lightweight 18" Grendel.

Makes sense.   I extrapolated 2100fps.  Not too far off.  Being close to sea level drops it down a bit also.   The highest I might shoot is 3k.  Even at 850-1000yds out if a 12" is impressive.   Will be looking for these pills.

That’s gonna be an awesome little package of hate...

Glad you have one of the ADM ambi lowers. No one else does ambi controls better.

Pretty exciting loadings out there

I finally was able to order a case of wolf and some of the often questioned hornady black-got it today.  Gotta break this "mini-grecce" in and see how it's grouping, then get my hands on some of the fancy stuff.  Big capability to size ratio, hopefully the 12" faxon is a shooter!

No major issues, cycled fine (Hornday Black and Wolf), seems a bit undergassed but I will test more.  I didnt really do any accuracy testing but was easily hitting steel at 420yds with Wolf ammo.

Geissele all the things.  I like the flat bows, sd-e in the grendel on the bottom. The hi-speed speed national match might be good in that rifle too.

I redone my 18" Grendel and hopefully get to rezero it in this week.  I changed the rail and bed my JP barrel in Blue loctite.  I hope that it performs a little better than before with Hornady Black.

Also, changed the gas block to a Geissele and the BCG to a Bootleg with my JP bolt.  The SLR adjustable was hitting my handguard when I made the change to the Geissele handguard.

Yea I did not recognize that upper receiver and handguard but they look nice.
I was all lined up to buy an SSA-E until a great deal on a LaRue MBT-2S popped up so I went that way.
Which mags do you like?

How snug do those rail covers feel to you? To me it’s almost too loose in Toulouse. It’s almost to the point they could catch something and get pulled off.

For now, they are placeholders until I get xtms or knights covers on there. They are definitely not the tightest.

I like the rounded feel xtm and knights give. The dd covers maintain the square profile and I don’t like that.

Whoa! Hold on there, partner.  That "tard" on the bike was the one with the right of way. The fault clearly lies with the spotter and the shooter.  They clearly had the responsibility of knowing what was in the down range area. The motorcyclist had no idea he was riding through a target area and, more than likely, never knew that he had.

1st rendition had a 1.5-5x Brunton cheapo scope and glossy gen1 AP CF handguard.

Seeing as it was meant to stalk coyotes and pigs, I went with a 1-8x Strike Eagle and matte finish gen2 AP CF handguard.

Between my friend and I, we bagged 3 hogs on my 1st hunt ever.

My 6.5 Grendel. The receiver is a Ruger lower with Ruger 2 stage trigger, Upper is an Aero Precision 20" SS fluted barrel. Wears an older 6-24 scope I had laying around. She is no lightweight, with a 10 round mag she tips the scales at 11.4#.
