Got in a couple of decent range sessions with the LVAW clone, zero complaints thus far. While the handguard gets as warm as one would expect, it's tolerable. On a related note I convinced the guy at ALTRD to start designing the proper heat shield for the LVAW handguard (which will be a drop-in fit since he already included the screw holes for it). He's also working on a very lo-pro scout mount that will still allow the use of an NGAL or PEQ15/LA-5 alongside the light body.

So w/ dev. switching over to Noveske, I'm actually curious as to what their current dm/ recce rifle or upper setup is. I believe it was touched upon slight in the nsw recce thread but just giving the nature of these units their is no way to fully confirm.

Yeah. they have made some recent changes the past couple of years. Assaulters went to the P320 X Five and switched to the Noveske. What are they saying in the Recce thread?

I'd like to know this as well.

Seems like the 10.5" Noveske with ATACR is the NSW Recce rifle now

So the short discussion starts on the bottom of page 56 of the nsw recce. Basically a guy "in the know" states this is what they are using and this is what they have and he cloned it. Only thing I find hard to believe is that he mentioned that the x24 was still the standard. Other than that it seems to be pretty believable. Also I'm not calling this guy a liar or anything at all, I'm just stating I can't confirm it's true or false as I do not know him. W/ the nature of these units it's not like we can just ask for a bunch of pictures from the guys in atm.

Yea. Would be a fast way to switch zero from super to sub. And the 125gr stuff is good out to 6-700.

It is big... but how does it shoot? There must be a reason why they go with 0.081. I imagine they can choose anything they want.

I just checked GB completed listings and it looks like things have settled down a little. $550-700 seems to be the going rate now.

The DEVGRU clone is going to be a thing for a while.

Military guns need to be able to operate in extreme cold. Who knows, maybe there have been new, lower, operating temperature range requirements derived from Arctic conflict CONOPS.

Picked this up today. Most of the Parts are accounted for or are on the way. Only thing I need is the correct .300 barrel.... Dont know if that will ever happen. Gen 3 upper comes wen. Waiting on a barrel nut wrench to break this down to send it out to get cerakoted. Any recommendations on that front would be well appreciated. I can already tell this will be my fav build.

Found a guy local to me that does Cerakote. I'm trading him a Noveske MUR upper for some peanut butter.

So I couldn't find an F prefix and after asking around I just went w/ the common W prefixed lower. From my limited understanding the F marked lowers were simply produced at the same timeframe as the contract ones. The only difference I could see in photos between the two was the serial numbers, maybe someone else could better comment on them however.

“F” prefix has the updated engravings that is seen on the contract lowers.  “W” is just the latest made lowers from this year.  Same markings.

Contract lowers actually got “X” marked prefixes in their serial numbers if I’m not mistaken.

Damn I think I have a gen 1 lower made the first year Noveski made lowers (2007-2008 IIRC).

Are these close to the lowers Dev uses?

I’m curious about mil 300 loads too. 6.75” is the barrel length used by the LVAW. From what I understand it was never sold commercially on a complete gun until the TacOps. coregon can correct me if I’m wrong on that.

I’d love more info in general about the LVAW guns. Especially current guns.

The Q Honey Badger barrel is a 1:5 7”.

Mos Tek can also spin something more custom (lengths etc) with the fast twist rate too.
