Pricing on these seem great, especially compared to a Hog Saddle setup with a Manfrotto or other high end tripod. I haven't seen much in the way of reviews for your setup, although I have read enough reviews on the rifle rests themselves to see that the Hog Saddle (for a lot more money) is generally a better rest than the Pig model.
Just what would you say I'm giving up in stability or usability in buying the Night Stalker tripod, vs. a more known and expensive model? For the several hundred dollar difference in price, there almost has to be some sort of compromise. I'm hovering around buying the tripod itself, and machining my own saddle out in the shop. |
That's a question we really don't have an answer for. We have had a few customers buy ours to replace the heavy SLIK tripods that come standard with other set-ups. They seem to like ours better. Nothing against the SLIK either. Ours are just lighter and cheaper. Unsure on stability however.

I will be buying!
Can this be setup with a sort of qd lock in type mount (dovetail ect) instead of the universal clamp? |
Whats the difference between the Pig and Reaper saddles? When I look at the pictures on the Pig page it has photos of both models and vice versa and its confusing. I assume its the reaper saddle holding the rifle unassisted in several different positions, can the pig saddle do the same?
I'm interested but I want to make sure I buy the right model. Thanks! |

Is the primary advantage to the Reaper Grip the ability to place other devices on the side plate?
Thank you for the reply. I'll be ordering the Pig/Tri-pod combo.
Any free shipping coupons? $19 is steep. |

The kopfjager is a much better grip in my opinion.

Most of my bolt guns are in McMillan Sako Hunter style stock and that style has a thinner forearm. If the reaper will fit it than I'd order it.

Either rest with work with your stocks.

Will the reaper clamp to a 1.5" diameter AR rail?

I just ordered the tripod only - it seems like a very reasonable price. I did some comparison shopping with other, similarly priced tripods from some other tactical supply outfits - if your tripod is as well made as it appears, I think it will rule in the "non-stratispherically-priced" market segment for tripods.
I didn't buy a saddle for mine. Reading some comparisons, the Pig Saddle, while good for the price point, still didn't hold up to the rigidity of the higher-priced Hog Saddle. That's reasonable. The Kopfjager looks better, but doesn't really appeal to me that much. So, I'm heading out into my garage to spend some quality time on my mill and lathe with some chunks of 6061 aluminum. I think I can improve on the Hog Saddle, for far less money (less my time, of course!) The tripod will give me a solid base to try experimenting from! |

Well Merry Christmas to me, just placed my order!
Can't wait to try it out. |
So, the center section can be removed?
I am looking at tripods without center post so the tripod could be used prone. |

OOS, Shipping in 4-6 Weeks.
These are OOS? I placed my order on the 25th, is my ETA really 4-6 weeks? When I check my orders on your website it kicks me to the cart so I don't know what the status of my order is.

Ok, not trying to be a dick but your thread is titled "Night Goggles “Night Stalker” Tripods are shipping!". I realize that the post is 2 weeks old but no where here or on your website does it mention the OOS. Also you charged my credit card already.
I'm pretty patient but that's not cool...... |

I placed an order yesterday morning for just a tripod, and was aware of the shipping delay.
Tom still called and left me a message last night confirming I knew about the delay and if I was ok with it, not to call him back and he would process the order if he didn't hear from me. I got an email this morning showing my order was processed. Looking forward to trying this tripod out! |

Since the OEM part number was prominently on display in your photos, I couldn't resist the urge to look it up and find the manufacturer/distributor.
1. You guys are selling these at a great price, compared to the pricing from the overseas OEM. Nice job! 2. From the detailed photos on the site I saw, these look to be even better than I was expecting - can't wait to get mine. 3. The industry standard dovetail mount will make it easy to buy or even make your own custom mounts for the tripod. With a big of ingenuity, it would be easy to rig a picatinny to tripod direct adapter, to eliminate any movement in the system. |
Or you could buy one of the CRETAC picatinny to arca-swiss adapters that we sell for $70. We appreciate your business.

Mine arrived yesterday, and it looks great! Looking forward to trying it out. I do need to figure out how to remove the center column and attach the ball head for that extra low position.
What we need now is a throw-lever arca swiss to picatinny adapter. Throwing inexpensive rails on all my rifles is easy, but the adapter is not an easy swap from rifle to rifle with 3 cross bolts.

And I saw you in my nightmares
But I'll see you in my dreams And I suffer a thousand penalties Before I know what that means. |
LOL Fellas! I'll make a quick video to show you how to properly remove the center stalk for prone position. Sorry for the delay. Just returned from SHOT Show and I'm still buried up to my eyeballs...

I figured it out this morning. On the center column, opposite end of the retractable hook, is a larger diameter knurled knob. It's on there pretty tight - I had to use a strap wrench to break mine loose. After you get that off, it's pretty easy to figure out how to use it, the hook assembly from the other end, and the short, double-threaded all-thread piece that will come loose with the knob to put it all together.

Anyone received theirs yet and have a good firsthand review with say a 17lb rifle in PRS type environments?
Any chance you will make the tripod available without the ballhead? Or switch to a ballhead that has separate knobs for tensioning and unlocking the ball?
Im not saying duracoat fucks up function, I am saying nutnfancy does. -RustedAce

WOW!
Very versatile great design. |
How much cold weather testing has been done on these? I currently have a tripod of a similar design that I'd like to replace. This weekend I had a couple of the bushings in the locking rings break, in the 0 degree weather. This was only my second time using in cold weather. Has this tripod been tested in these temps?

We are using these in sub zero temps daily. No issues.

If it comes with the gun I'll take 3! No but seriously that's a beautiful setup and I'm thinking of buying one of those night stalkers or my Para fal
