Thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye on this auction as I have exactly that rifle - circa 1996 - except with an Armalite buttstock which I ordered after the AWB sunset. I'd like to see what this gets bid up to. This thing runs on modified M-14 magazines which might be a bit difficult to find these days.

Seems funny looking back - I bought it because I wasn't sure I'd ever have a chance to get an AR-10 if I didn't buy ASAP. I had no idea it would become fairly common any time after that.

You can run the Gen II Armalite magazines in the early B series rifles by swapping the bolt catch to the newer design. Mine cycled fine with the newer magazines but would not lock back on an empty magazine. I installed the updated bolt catch and it works perfectly now.

I had one and sold it.

Nice rifle well made and accurate but its a dead end.

Very little aftermarket parts

No extra stripped uppers are ever available.

I don't remember that barrel profile - it looks heavier in front of the gas block. I am running the last of my old stock 16" 1:11.25 Armalite barrels from that era on my Roam, and it's a lighter pencil-like profile, like the current EA0710.

It was the medium HBAR profile they came out with originally but people were (me too) was bitching for a more thinner profile akin to a standard M14 barrel. Armalite listened but people (me too) started bitching up groups opening up when the barrel got hot so they switched back to the medium HBAR.

I love the old school Armalite AR10.
Would love to find an AR10A2 carbine, but so far.....zippo!
