And older video.
Probably the best red dot on the market

Honestly, it is the first SIG optic that actually has my attention. I like its feature set, price point is good to me, and it seems SIG optics have matured quite a lot now.

Still just Chinese optics rebranded most of the time.

Can't believe they have the balls to compare it to Aimpoint.

I believe the 4T models are made in US.

The older (original) 4's were made in China (4A, 4B, 4C, 4M)
At some point, production of the 4M's shifted to Cali.

I believe all current 4 series are assembled in the US.

4A/B became the 4H
4C became the 4S
4M became the 4T, which now also offers the 4TPro and 4XT-Pro.

I have a 4H, a 4S, and a 4T, and they are all assembled in the US.

Sig stated that the only thing that comes from China is single circuit board, so take that for what it is worth.

The new 4XT Pro seems to be getting a lot of rave reviews.

I'm 100% satisfied with mine. This optic, for whatever reason, isn't completely fucked up by my astigmatism which makes it an absolute unicorn. After decades of starburst something looks like it was intended.

Thank you for the info.

Out of the 4H, 4S and 4T, which one do you think best to compete with Aimpoint T2/H2?

The 4T series is most comprable to the T2 series.

I might try one of these.

Anyone know if this one will need a Unity Micro-s mount instead of their standard mount?

Looks like it will sit higher than an Aimpoint micro type rds.

Not taking a side, but one could ask where all the components for an Aimpoint are produced before being assembled in Sweden too.

This gets hashed out all the time in various threads. Aimpoint is very open and specific about where they source their stuff. Same arguments are made about Holosun vs Trijicon.

When Sig makes two models that are almost completely IDENTICAL in shape and function but one is made in China and one is assembled in USA you mean to tell me Sig invests in the machining and electronics manufacturing capability to make the exact same optic components in the US?

I haven’t seen it bashed out in the past it was a honest question not a defense of any one brand. Just hard to keep up with the details and where the line is drawn in this global economy and outsourced goods/components of products.

The 4T would be closest since it is ruggedized, BUT...the 4T has solar on it, so it is hard to compare to the two.  The newest versions (4XT and 4XT Pro) do not have solar anymore, so the buttons were moved back to the top of the unit.

I would assume the answer to your question is "Yes", in order to get certain American (or other country) defense and LEO contracts.

I would assume the import everything and assemble juuuuust enough to make it assembled in the USA definable.

Ok this post is all gonna be hearsay and conjecture but I think you may be wrong about this. Sigs optics division is based in Oregon I believe, and I've been told before that Oregon has more stringent requirements for what "made in the USA" means than much or any of the rest of the US, so I am inclined to believe that more than what you'd expect is made stateside.

Frankly though, if it works well, I don't care one bit if the optic was made or partially made in china. I do wish there was more transparency from companies about where their components and devices come from, because if it matters to you, that information should be 100% available. But it does not matter to me.

I ordered one for my MPX.  It showed up today, and will be going back tomorrow.

It will only display the holdover dots reticle, and the dots in the circle.  No single dot, no circle only.  Also it has the red "phantom" vertical lines when light is behind you, or when ln a dark area, looking into a bright area.

I got it directly from SIG.  They already sent me an RMA and shipping label.

Not surprised at all.   Their optics are junk.

Well, damn.  I was actually wanting to purchase one for my MPX.  Gun Tubers all seem to like it but I’ve seen several negative reviews pop up recently across a few gun forums. Guess I’ll hold off for now on the 4xt and rethink my optic setup for my MPX.

I have a Romeo8T thats been great, but it's huge bitch.  I was kind of hoping the 4XT-PRO, being part of their higher end optics line would be better than the bottom end stuff.  I agreed to let them fix it, and will run it when I get it back, just to see how things shake out.

My MPX SBR is nothing but a money pit, range toy anyways, so no big deal if it isn't battle worthy.

4T is not Chinese. Assembled in Oregon, 4T has a single non-US made component and it's a circuit board that likely comes from Japan. Defense contracts don't allow stuff sourced from China.

There's no "juuuuust enough". It either is or is not made with Chinese components, which are not allowed by DoD purchasing regulations. So, there are none in the 4T series, which CAG happens to use along with the SAS and FBI.

If every single competent was made in USA and sourced in the USA it would be called MADE in USA. But it’s not, it’s ASSEMBLED in the USA

Not sure on SAS, but FBI has them on their published approval lists for duty use and are seen pictured quite a bit.  Certain US SMUs have been photographed using them as well on certain platforms (LVAW, for example).

Anyways, just grabbed one of these to try out.  Probably should have just grabbed another T2, but oh well.  Functionally, mine works fine.  Definitely more of a blue lens tint than my T2s.

Each that I’ve seen has had an Aimpoint or Eotech on it, FWIW.

I look forward to your longer-term thoughts on it.

There are other countries that make optic/electronic components than USA, Sweden, and China.

Here's a somewhat famous example that came to mind.

I was answering about the LVAW, but thanks for sharing that…I’ll tuck that into my noggin.

There are 1 or 2 pics in the JSOC and DEVGRU clone threads, but most are Aimpoint or Eotech.
Seems like the Romeo 4T's are "approved", but not "preferred".  I bet they come standard on any of the SIG LVAW's.

(I have a 4T and a 4S on my two main (non .22LR) guns.  I need to decide on a home for my 4H).

A quick update.  The day SIG received my defective 4XT-PRO, they shipped me a new sight.  This one operates as it should.
