Building a new 6.5 Grendel and cannot find one box of Ammo or a bag of brass just to try the AR out.

After looking up every store from google for Ammo when I close my eyes at night all I see is a red line of text  "Out of Stock".

Does anyone have an idea or contact that may help out?

Plenty of ammo on gunbroker

Academy sports seems to get some 6.5G in stock every so often

I saw some in the EE a few days ago, I think he wanted $1.50 each or something like that

GB is your best bet to grab a few boxes.  Or you can spend each morning at a bass pro, cabelas, academy, Scheels and stalk the ammo trucks to get some rationed Hornady for $1.20/round.

Midway may get some in, so be ready for your 3 box limit

I suggest you get on the notification for Midsouth Shooters supply and Starline.   Midsouth gets brass occasionally.

Another option, not the best but you can fire form 7.62x39 brass to 6.5 Grendel.  The large primer pockets don’t last for many reloads but is an option if you have powder and primers.   Bullets in 6.5/.264 can be found.

I have Fire Formed x39 brass when I first got my 6.5 Grendel and had very few 6.5 Grendel brass.  A friend gave me a 100-150 x39 brass and it works especially if the brass is free.  I had blem bullets I got cheap which helps because you need a low powder charge when FF x39 brass.  I used minimum powder charge when I FF x39 to 6.5 Grendel.  In my experience not all x39 is the same quality.  Some brass FF better than other.

Just found about 600rds of wolf steel I forgot about from last year. Might list it on EE for what I got it for.

After they gobbled up all of the .223, they then went for .308 until that too was all gone. Meanwhile 6.5 in both long and short were just sitting there for a very long time until people finally caught on that there were AR10's or AR15's chambered in them as well, then that too was all gone.

If you can locate some W748, CCI 450 primers, and 123 grain bullets, you can end up with really decent loads.  While I favor Lapua brass, almost any brass will work.  I felt that the Grendel was one of those inherently accurate cartridges if you don't try for maximum loads.
