New book alert for this exact group!

A couple local buddies took on this project and I was very happy to help them with a couple contributions!

Perry Cox has written quite a few books already so he was already used to it but admitted it took a lot longer than he thought with all the details and changes that happened throughout the years of the Sp1.

This should be a near complete book with all of the major and minor changes of the production rifles from beginning to end as well as boxes and accessories that came with them!

I was a little upset he didn’t want to add any prototype stuff in it but still a worthwhile book and something that hasn’t been put into book form until this one so all of your resources are in one place.

It covers the changes and in the back is a summary for a ‘gun show’ reference guide if you have one you are potentially buying and need to look up the details.

Overall an excellent book and he posted them on gunrboker if you want one.

I ordered a copy this morning and Perry has already sent it out. Great guy to talk to. If you are interested in SP1's better get a copy ordered. Perry said the initial run was going to be 500 copies. I've waited a long time on this book. As good as the Black Rifle books and Larry Vicker's AR15 books are this will be the one to have on SP1 information. Perry says that the book is not only the information that he and his partner have gathered over the years, but wants it to be a sounding board for the community's input so that further information can be gathered and added. Itching for my copy to arrive.

I got my copy in and am impressed with the amount of work that went into this book. It will be a valuable addition to my other reference books. I am looking forward to hearing what may pop up in the future about the early SP1's that has been previously unreported. And, what did happen to the rifles that were supposedly manufactured in the 1970 serial number range. I have seen hundreds of rifles over the years but never one from 1970.

A lot of work went into this publication and it is a very comprehensive guide on the SP-1 series.

Awesome work. Thanks, Perry!

Just received today. It honestly looks glorious.

Any books like this for the m16 to the m4 series?
