Looks nice.  Can you confirm that is a black slip ring?  Also, how is the barrel marked?  Drain hole drilled under the front sight post in the front sight block?

Very nice, OP.  How much does the buffer weigh?

I have no idea. I will try to find a way to weigh it tomorrow. It is pretty lightweight

I never noticed until now, that the 1967 Sp1 has a way better fit and finish than the 1978.

I'm thinking also is there a hole in the lower right side to pin the buffer tube? And not one on the left side. By the way nice collection.

My research suggests that the pinhole at the rear of the receiver went through both sides up until around serial no 8503 in 1967. Then for most of 1967 it was only on the right side of the receiver. Finally, by the end of that year (at least by serial no 10305) the pinhole disappeared and never returned.
As such, there are only roughly 1,500 Colt AR-15s that have the pinhole on just the right side of the receiver. (Note this doesn't make them more valuable because of it, but it is an interesting difference that makes them at least a little bit special.)
