Gets talked about, but doesn't get recorded so much.
What is your most used LPVO mount height on an AR? I'm halfway through switching from 1.5" to 1.93" for kicks. No verdict, yet. |

Most used ie. popular - 1.5(x)
Most awesome - 1.7 Most overrated for an LPVO - 1.93 - ETA *Good points brought up - Dependent on optic, shooting style etc., Definitely not or everyone. |

Depends largely on the optic. My nx8 came alive with a 1.93 height.

I bought a 1.93 and I’ll never go back to anything shorter. I’m used to AR height mounts on AKs, carry handle optics, and piggybacked optics so the chin weld is my preference.

I bought a geissele 1.93 to try with my razor 1-6. I don’t like it and I’m trying to trade it for a G sopmod mount.
The 1.93 isn’t terrible but even standing, R&G, etc, I feel myself wanting to get a better cheek weld than it affords with my body type. |

I don't have a fat face, so i prefer the 1.4 - 1.5 range.

I'm perfectly satisfied with my 1.45" and 1.5" height mounts. I'm currently looking for a 1.7" for some extra clearance under my 3-9x for a backup sight. We'll see how I like that.

1.7 is pretty damn good, but only BO offers them. I'm good with 1.54. 1.93 is too high for me.

1.93" seems a bit high for me. I REALLY want to try 1.7" as I think it would be awesome since I much prefer lower 1/3rd to absolute. However, as someone said above, Badger is the only one making them and they are pricey. I've got no problem spending $200 ish on an ADM or similar, but I have a hard time spending $300 for whatever reason.

Loved 1.93 when I had back and shoulder issues, it was more comfortable...now that I dont..I can go a bit lower...the 1.93 feels high now., 1.7"-ish would be about right.

So much of this is gonna be driven by how you're using the LPVO. If it's spending a lot of time magnified from prone on a bipod/rest, lower third or 1.7 would be my choice. 1.7 is an excellent all-around height.
If you use the LPVO as a red dot with the capability to get occasional hits out at 300+, 1.93 would be the preference. Imo, of course. |

I have 1.7 BO mounts, but I am tempted to try a 1.93 Scalarworks because I like there mounts so much. Wish they’d come out with a 1.7

From the days when all the gun rags touted the RRA DEA rifle as the greatest ever. Those were the days when Magpul made magpuls, Bushmaster was Tier 1, Eotechs and vertical grips were awesome!
|
I love 1.7 for LPVO’s that see a healthy blend of magnifications ranges. I am trying a 1.93 on a LPVO that will spend 99% of its life on 1x and effectively be replacing a red dot.

I'm actually looking for a ~1.7" height for my 3-9x optic. Is Badger Ordinance the only one that offers this height? I'm planning on shooting this rifle a mix off-hand & prone, and I feel the 1.7" is a good compromise. Not sure I'm going to like the 1.93" if shooting prone, but the extra "heads up" position of the 1.7" would be nice for offhand shooting...

I've been shooting 1.5 for years and I'm generally pretty happy with it.
