The new Midwest Industries Non QD scope mounts are the same great mounts as our QD mounts, but with a nut instead of a lever.
These mounts are available in 1" as well as 30mm. These mounts feature a forward offset to give proper eye relief specifically for AR platform rifles. They are heavy duty in construction with dual steel locking lugs yet weigh only 8.4 oz. The one-piece long clamp bar will not loosen or shift under heavy use or recoil. Attachment is simple with two 1/2" steel locking nuts. These mounts place the scope 1 1/2" above the top of the rifle allowing for the use of scopes with up to a 56mm objective. They are constructed from 6061 aluminum and are hard coat anodized for a lifetime of service. Like everything we make these are 100% Made in U.S.A. and are covered by our lifetime warranty.

I love Midwest Industries products, but I don't see anything here that I can't find for under a $100 elsewhere. I have a mounts from other vendors that were cheaper, and I have not had any issues with them. What am I not seeing with this product?

I love most of what you guys do, but like some other posters here, I'm also not sure what to think.
My first thought was that these must be intended to be lighter weight... nope, like 0.3oz lighter than your QDs and as heavy as the competition. So maybe a budget option? I mean, I guess... except guys who can't afford to pay a premium for QD capability probably aren't going to pony up for something with the same functional capabilities as the (much) cheaper foreign made stuff just because its made in the USA. $130 isn't exactly "budget" territory. Heck, I don't even really use the QD capabilities of my mounts, I just appreciate not having to worry about nuts coming loose over time because a lever can't unscrew with recoil. I dunno... more options are more better I guess. While I'm sure theres some segment of the market that this will be perfect for, it's clear that I'm not part of it. lol.

There seems to be a total misunderstanding. This was not designed to be budget part. We were not looking to make this light weight.
This mount was designed to be an extremely robust option for people who do not want/ need QD levers. Properly torqued these nuts will not come loose. These mounts have the same return to zero as our QD mounts and the four ring screws evenly torqued will hold your optic confidently in place. We do not care that there are cheaper options out there as that is the case with everything we manufacture. Our products are machined right here in Wisconsin. We care only that we make the best quality product we can. The price reflects what it costs to make a mount of this quality. |

I’ll buy one in 20 MOA. Better than the Warne I hope (which I had to lap to stop a scope from slipping) and cheaper than a Giessele, and even though I own two, I think they are way overpriced.

People pay three times that for a Geiselle non QD mount? i'm missing your point. While i too like QD I'm sure these will sell.

Looks good, and I expect these will sell well particularly if no lapping is needed.
Though I am curious, why the choice of 6061 vs 7075? Simply a case of 7075 being overkill? |
