awesome, do you have a daewoo dr-200 to test fit it on?  i know if would be popular with those guys trying to find a K2 stock.

Your stock would look great on an AR-180B conversion as well.

I'm working on a set of hand guards that should go nicely with your butt stock, Sven.

Great work!

Did you design the hinge or is it an existing piece @Manticore_Arms?

That is the one thing that was holding me back from adapting my butt stock to that lower. I couldn't find an existing hinge to incorporate into my design.

I really like it.

@boywonder777

I do not have a daewoo DR200, but as long as it has a picatinny adapter the stock should drop right on.

The Stormwerkz Type 3 adapter should be just the ticket:

Do you remember who was molding repro pistol grips for the DR-200?

Yeah Josh makes nice parts as well.  I was doing the daewoo grips but it's been hard finding someone willing to mold them lately.

Dang, I did not even think of that- adapting it would take a picatinny interface on the AR-180B but yeah, it would indeed work.

Josh has these: Armalite AR-180B Stock Adapter Type 5 (SA-180B-05) $50

Would these work?

I have two BRN lowers and a Nodak/BigRix fusion lower plus two Nodak equipped AR180B's.  I applaud the effort but the shape is a bit off and tapering at the wrist to meeting the smaller size of the MI hinge I guess was the reason.

There's another option coming out soon (I sent my Sterling AR180 stock to them for 3D scan) so will wait and see how their production version looks once complete.

It's nice to have options :-D

I won't speak for them but I know why the delays and let's just say, they had fits and starts over certain off the shelf parts and went their own way vs. having to rely on others for parts.  Trust me, it's been a LONG wait and the pandemic hasn't made it any easier.

In my case for the AR180B, it is a 180 lol

If you are referring to B5 systems, they are moving rather slowly.  I know as I communicate with Brownells on projects and we got started well after B5 and still beat them to market.

Yes, the wrist gets a little narrower to accommodate the MI hinge- at some point you aren't building an AR-180, you are emulating the look of the original.  The original AR-180 stock is also a lot narrower and does not have storage, but no one seems to mind we put it in the stock.  At some point as a designer you have to decide if are you going to exactly copy the original, or just go for the feel of the original, which is what we did.

Concur. I'd like to think of it as an AR-180 PIP.

Really like this stock. This is what I've been waiting for. Will pick one up soon.

Like the handguards that BigRix made. Think a smooth top all around handguard, but with pic rails at the 12, 3, and 9 oclock at the forend would be perfect. Just enough rail to mount a front sight and flashlight.

I'd definitely like to mod the stock onto my DR-200, the grip that I bought from boywonder777 a few years back has worked fantastically.

Great job!

I've got Daewoo K2's and DR200's...I can get any measurements you guys need.  As for improved AR180's, I agree.  I set this one up as an AR180 DMR of sorts

Liked the Manticore stock so much I bought it then got the lower. Don’t have the upper yet but the plan is to go with the 18” I think the Tango Down pistol grip has the best lines to get the look of the AR-180

What stock do you have on there?

It's from Q, "The Fix" stock with their optional Big Butt pad using a Sig folding mechanism (before Q released their own separate one)

I got the upper for $5xx during the presale and the lower for $79 during the same, so, it all balances out.  Prices on BRN stuff went up significantly afterwards
