Curious what type of accuracy people are getting with this round. At 100 yards I'm at an inch or slightly under.  On the 200 meter range it opens up to 2.-3inch   I'm shooting an Aero Precision 16in build with a Bushnell Engage 2.5-10x

Magtech/CBC 77gr OTM is my preferred 'serious' use ammo.
I seriously love this round.

Accuracy is excellent, velocity is excellent @2650fps(same as BH), and price @ $0.55/rd is the best in its class.

After shooting about 1200-1400rds of Magtech/CBC 77gr OTM through my SR15 Mod1 (16" CHF CL 'LW' 1/7 Barrel), I confirmed my rifle to be 1.25MOA capable(10rd group), using that particular round.
Using my only 'DMR' rifle, the SR15 Mod1 LPR w/ its SPR profile Krieger 18" SS 1/7 twist barrel, I can do 0.8-1.0 MOA 10rd groups.

Here are some accuracy samples of my SR15 Mod1 (16" CHF CL 'LW' 1/7 Barrel) w/ ACOG 4x TA31F at 300 yards, using Magtech/CBC 77gr OTM, on a shooting sled.

Old picture of the gun. SR15 Mod1 (16" CHF CL 'LW' 1/7 Barrel) It has 15,500rds through the barrel when I did the accuracy test.
Same optic, TA31F, but currently has a PA EFAB comp, A1 PG, and Tangodown VFG.

Thats some nice shooting.  I really like this ammo as well, I had been buying nosler or FGMM 77gr both of those rounds I was sub at 100yards but they are lot more money per round than the magtech.

I ran some through a 22" 1/8" Wlyde chambered Pac-Nor Remington Varmint countour on a Remington 700 and it would do .4moa 5 shot groups pretty consistently.

Good shooting, MRW. I finally got around to buying an SSA-E, which I'm gonna drop into the build that is pictured in my other post. Can't wait to take out the rifle with the new trigger and Weaver Tac scope that I bought awhile back, but have yet to mount on the rifle. Lol.

It's great ammo, and definitely capable of sub-MOA accuracy. I don't get much benefit out of it due to my setup and the fact that I rarely get to shoot at more than 100 yards, unfortunately, so I'm offloading all I have and trading it in for 55gr. https://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_133/1715484_5-56mm-Mk262-3870-Rounds-Available.html

Mods: Feel free to delete this post if it's not kosher. I don't think that this breaks rule #10, but I could be wrong.

Pssh who needs a high end barrel, sandbag rests, match bullets and a fancy trigger to shoot 1.5moa?

Guys here do it all the time with 193 and 855. With Irons. Just ask them..they'll tell you.

The Magtech 77gr stuff I tested for SGAmmo, gave me 1.5" @ 75 yards (5 shot) from my 16" (Non magnified Eotech)gun on a leadseld. This is the "First Defense Tactical" stuff

I would love to get some to try out, but SGAmmo seems to have been out of stock for a while and without another source for it per their industry forum.

Shoot. You know what, I was thinking of the .308 168 gr. stuff of the same make I have been wanting to try. Thanks for the correction.

I shot my two rifles today to see which one if any way better than the other using magtech mk262. Used a rest for all the shots. Also I shot 3 rounds of wolf gold out of each rifle first as I had just cleaned them the night before and wanted to clean out some of the excess oil.

Shots were made at 100 yards

Aero Precision M4E1 5.56 1/7 Bushnell Engage 2.5-10x Larue MBT trigger

Savage MSR 15 recon 223 wylde 1/8 Vortex Crossfire II 4-12 (not the normal optic it wears) Larue MBT

The current lot of Magtech, green and white box is fast. Took some velocity readings with a magnetospeed before a match yesterday.

From a 16in LaRue PredatAR barrel, 10 rounds:

CBC Lot  036/16 77gr SMK
Vel- 2614fps
ES- 49
SD- 18

That is in no way representative of what that ammo is capable of.   I've been shooting that CBC since it was first available and it's always been sub-moa, closer to half MOA when shot through a good setup by a good shooter.

I never said it was. I'm not a marksman by any means. I was asked to include a simple accuracy test with my velocity/function tests. I'm working on getting a scope on a newly acquired bolt gun to aid in that. Currently I have a 1:9 twist gun with an Eotech with no magnification on it. I throw it on the leadsled, and I do my best. I'm certainly not Molon :)

The recent batch, Lot number: CBC 039/17, is still consistent/accurate.
My older batch of ammo from 2014, Lot number: CBC 018/14, seems to produce the same accuracy as the newest batch of ammo from Magtech/CBC.

Using the ammo through my SR15 Mod1 w/ CHF CL LW barrel, using a 4x ACOG TA31F, and a rifle sled, the end results are good.

NEWEST BATCH, CBC 039/17

OLD BATCH, CBC 018/14

Did a small comparison of CBC 77 SMK versus IMI 77 SMK.   This was a small test of only 20 rounds each.  The rifle has an 18" Rainier ultra-match SS barrel, a Nikon Prostaff scope and a Timney trigger.  Shooting done with a bipod.

The control group (4 groups of 5) was shot with 50 g Fiocch VMax.  This typically shoots around 1MOA.  As you can see my shooting was just a bit off.

The rifle is zeroed for the Fiocchi and I did not adjust the zero for the CBC or IMI.  Both printed somewhat high to the right compared to the Fiocchi control group.

The CBC out-performed the Fiocchi.  It is my new favorite ammo!

The IMI did pretty well but not as good as the CBC.

I plan to repeat the test with a larger sample (40-60 rounds each) when I get some better weather.

Naive question but do you typically re-zero for each new round you test? If so, what's your routine.

No, this is the only rifle I use for bench shooting so I leave it zeroed to my "good" ammo.  I recently joined a club that has a 300 yard range so I'd like to switch to a heavier round.  I need to do a larger test before I stock up, but the CBC looks like a winner.

I swear Im the only guy who IMI shoots better for. 77 gmm is very consistaly .6 with 5 shot groups from my 20 inch gun. Bought a few rounds of IMI off a buddy but I didnt test them, just shot them on steel at 3 and 6, then shot one 3 round group with them and they were touching. Did a lot of research and everyone said CBC/Magtech was gtg/better then IMI. It was also cheaper at sgammo too, so I bough 500 rounds as my go to ammo. Flat out wont shoot out of either of my rifles. 3-5 inch 5 round groups. So very disappointed. Ording IMI and some speer 75s to test. Ill run them against CBC and GMM as well as my handloads. All ten shot groups, and well see what happens.

Every barrel is different, nothing wrong with that.
From what I've seen and what I've experience with multiple barrel manufacturers, the Magtech/CBC 77gr OTM will almost always create good results, while the IMI is more picky.
