Anyone feel there is a significant performance advantage between them?   Pricing being equal, which would you buy?

Thanks for any input!

I've done some reading on them, and the IMI is typically thought to be a bit hotter and a bit less accurate.  Magtech is also a bit more expensive.  Most people seem to prefer the Magtech.
Right now SGAmmo has Magtech for $0.55 per round, and Midway has IMI for .50 per round.

Thanks!  I've been looking on SGAmmo. I also saw the magtech a little cheaper on Surplus Ammo.com.  Anyone dealt with them?

I split a case of Magtech 77 gr OTM with a shooting partner.   One thing I noticed was all my 1x7 barreled uppers clearly shoot better using it compared to XM855.   Not that XM855 is match ammo.  Makes them shoot 1.0 to 2.5 MOA on average versus the 3 to 4.5 MOA using 62 gr FMJ.  Most of my shooting involves 4X ACOGs in supported firing position

Recently traded 20 rounds of Magtech 77 gr OTM with a member of my shooting club who had IMI Razor core 77 gr SMK for comparison.  So far they seem on par, with Magtech ever so slightly more accurate that I wouldn't hesitate to buy IMI if that was the only brand available.

Below is two 10 shot groups with Magtech 77 gr OTM out of an 18" SS WOA barrel with Wylde chamber, 1x7 twist, midlength gas system, and NF NSX scope set to 10X.  Targets are at 150 yard line at my club, give or take.  200 yard line was too muddy that day.  I only stagger the plates to avoid having shrapnel chew up the wood posts.   The white aiming squares are 3.5"x3.5".  I like the repeatability of this ammo versus run of the mill 55/62 gr FMJ.

Have tried both... Magtech 77gr OTM is more accurate, actually pretty much the same accuracy I got from the box of BH 77gr OTM I've also tried.
Depending on rifle, the Magtech is about 0.8-1.5MOA ammo, 10rd group at 100-300 yards.
Depending on rifle, the IMI Razor 77gr OTM is about 1.5-2.75MOA ammo, 10rd group at 100-300 yards.

Magtech shot tighter groups for me vs the IMI 77gr out of all my barrels except for one, 20" A4 clone preferred the IMI.

The Magtech shot a tad more accurate in my experience.

I didn’t chrono them, but the IMI seemed a tad hotter than Magtech’s load, although not as hot as real MK262 Mod 1.

I'm running the magtech 5.56 77 gr otm out of a 18inch green mountain barrel 1:8 twist 223 Wylde and it consistently shoots at moa or just under. It's my go to ammo for my spr and HD rifle. Last weekend I shot it out to 700 yards

I may try some imi stuff at some point but for now I'm sticking with magtech

Eta I'm at 2740fps out of an 18inch barrel and 2643 out of a 16 inch Aero Precision barrel

Another vote for the CBC/Magtech.   In my Raineir 18" 1:8 twist wylde it shoots 1MOA or slightly better.

Here are four consecutive 5-shot groups of CBC at 100 yards.

Here are four groups of IMI from the same rifle on the same day.

The CBC is now my go-to round for bench shooting.

Tested the 2 side by side in my 16” Stealth. Magtech / CBC grouped better for sure

IMI is hot. I shot a box through a larue stealth 20 and one shot was WAY too hot at over 3000fps. 1.2 - 1.5 moa at 100 yds. 231fps ES.

The IMI 77 gr razor core has been my most accurate round.  I typically test about 12 or 13 commercial rounds with each new rifle or barrel.  The IMI is the only one I have been able to get consistent groups under 1 MoA, and then only through a Stealth barrel.  I had a few really tight groups with the Magtec when I shot 3 round groups, around 0.5 to 0.7 MoA.  But when I went to sets of 5 round groups, they all expanded up to 1" to 1.5" groups.

The IMI 77 gr is also the best performer in my 16" patrol rifle.

It really depends on what your rifle likes.  My rifles don't much care for Federal Gold Medal Match, although that is widely considered to be a really accurate round.  You just have to find out what works for your rifle.

Is 77grn good for SBR 11.5" barrel?

77gr SMK is absolutely devastating out of SBRish length barrels if that's what you're wondering. Check out the IMI Mk262 clone gel test, I believe it was fired through a 10.5".

Short neck, tons of fragging, good penetration.

It's a great combination HD and match bullet.

And the IMI 77 Razercore is unusually accurate in my 10.5 and 11.5 guns (PSA CHF). I was getting better groups with it than in my 14.7, 16" and 18" guns!!

I did another test with 30 rounds of Magtech 77 gr OTM using a "new" 20" Larue Stealth barrel w/rifle gas system, Wylde chamber, and 1x8 twist

1.4 MOA at 150 yards.  Hoping when the barrel breaks in it will find a sweet spot < 1 MOA.
