The Enhanced BCG was designed to reduce the gas pressure in a carbine length gas tube.
The mid length is doing what the enhanced BCG was designed to do in this case.
I probably wouldn't run both as you may be under gassed, unless you're running suppressed.

@jtdam24 is that a specwar? 12.5 barrel? It looks great, can you post more pictures?

Can someone knowledgeable tell me which of the available (in stock) BCGs on the Primary Arms website would be suitable for the LMT MWS?

Primary Arms - 308 BCGs

At least in the short term, until an LMT BCG appears again.

Thanks

Two options in my opinion are the KAK BCG d wilson mfg carries until an LMT BCG pops up(then the KAK becomes a nice backup) or the LMT built, but SOLGW branded BCG on SOLGW’s website. Good luck.

So far I love it. Far more accurate than the Aero M5 I had. 800 yards repeatedly was easy. Had issues connecting at 1100 yards. I went with the LW stainless 13.5 barrel, and had to SBR it due to the brake not making it to 16in.

Is that the 13.5 inch .308 or a custom length?

Barrel is 12" which necessitated shortening the rail.

That is one impressive build.
What made you go 12inch? Just to reduce overall all length?
How far can you stretch that out to?

Finally received the backordered LaRue RMR offset ring-half. I think all that's left to do with this build is a short LM8 rail section and a QD bipod.

Thanks @joesrcool

And @Trapper1895, those are two 12.5” barrels, one nestled in a Specwar upper and one cut down rifle length quadrail dubbed the “Quadwar” by none other than d. Wilson(@unclemoak).

What’s the difference between LM8 and SLK uppers?

Also, what barrels were used with the 7.25 LM8 upper?

Thanks!

LM8 is the 9.25” “CQB” length
SLK is the 13.25” “Rifle” length

That doesn’t make any sense. Everyone has moved to MLok as the primary forearm type. It’s also still listed on their website.

It doesn't.

However.  I would hazard a guess that the CQB uppers sell far more often than the MLR uppers with the current pistol heavy sales craze going on.  They may also not have any contracts for MLR uppers versus the CQB, Spec war and other variants that they offer.

If the ATF goes full retard come december, I would imagine the MLR uppers might sell better.

Can anyone confirm from the horses mouth?

the specwar is made by chopping off the front of the mlr. its the same forging.

Not sure where you heard/read that, but I’m looking at a specwar and mlr upper right now and if one were to chop an mlr in front of the T43 mark(the end of the specwar), there would be open slots around the entire front end.

Its a different machine code for the CNC but its the same forging.  The Mlok slots are cut into the forging, they're not there from the forge process.

I get it now, just sounded like d wilson’s cutting of a mrp 13,25” down to specwar length when reading it.

Wasn't the Specwar also supposed to have a larger inner diameter?

I remember seeing people with MLC uppers having issues with the upper making contact with the barrel/gasblock because of the thin profile of the MLC.

Then I remember reading somewhere (I think it was even directly on LMT's website) that the OD of the Specwar was larger meaning you didn't have to take off MLOK accessories when changing barrels.

I might be misinterpreting the whole same forging thing though.

@Peg-Leg-Pete I don't have a shovelnose, sorry. Here is a 13.7 noveske I put on MRP. It's a little heavy, but has served me well in several RNG and 2gun matches nationwide. This was from a RNG recently where I took 2/83 overall, 1/83 shooting, 13/83 running.

here is the same gun with a 13.9 6.5 Grendel.

Hey y'all.

I was wondering what kind of logic LMT has in their serial numbers.
I figured the Mars-l has a LXSXXXXXX no, whereas the MWS LHSXXXXXX. However, I've recently come across a rifle that was marked LMSXXXXXX. Any idea why they're different?
