The only thing that sucks about these micros is how hot they get. Gas block right where you grip. Gets a little toasty even unter controlled fire, and I have a binary trigger as well! I'm probably going to form 1 mine just so I can put a vert grip on the thing.

Why .936 at the gas block? Seems like a lot of extra barrel weight that's not needed.

The AFG is too long to fit on a 5" rail.

What bullet weight/ length stabilizes best and is most accurate in these? Is the 4 MOA due to the bullet having trouble stabilizing with such short rifling?

Most all AR barrels start out thick at the rear because of the chamber. The barrel only being a couple inches longer than the chamber is probably part of the reason.  Dropping the barrel profile would only be possible for the last two inches so why bother? The angle of the gas tube clearing the upper receiver is probably another reason. Having more material to resist heat is probably another reason.
I'm guessing an AR with such a short barrel will be unbalanced and heavier at the rear end so the little bit of extra weight is probably a benefit also.

Here's some inspiration if you guys want to add some dedicated .22 super shorty uppers to your product line. This one sports a 4 inch barrel.

So a 5 inch barreled 5.56?  That has to be an insane fireball out of the muzzle.

Here is what I did.

I filed the AFG to fit over the Barrel Nut portion of my SLR,while the rest was on a rail. I hate MAKO for what they did, but the PTK is very comfortable.

Why can't it use a .750 gas block? Honestly, if you could make one that would use a front sight base I'd be seriously interested. I've already got ideas for a build.

Well I just found a .936 fsb, so if the gas block journal was longer, like maybe if the end just wasn't threaded, I could use this front sight.

Surprisingly accurate and seems quieter than a similar 5.56.

Magpul MLOK AFG and an Impact Weapons Components handstop, both modified somewhat heavily

You might notice the grip is tilted a little, that's from the mods. After I took the pic I fixed it so it sits level with rail. The next one I build will use a different angled grip, this was way too much hassle.

Hey guys, we have been building a TON of Micro AR Pistols for clients lately and haven't really posted much about these. Figured I would drop some photos here and answer any questions you have about ultra short AR Pistols. We are talking 5" barrels in 300blk and 5.56. These shoot about a 4" group at 100 yards and are Ultra reliable suppressed or unsuppressed, semi or full auto. Barrels are .936 diameter gas block journal and a chopped gas tube from Veritas.

If you are looking to build an AR for your bugout bag, throw a Law Tactical Folding Adapter on one of these with a SBA3 or Shockwave blade and we get them down to 14" folded roughly.

If you are interested in building one of these bad boys email me!

I can see 300 Blackout with 6" barrels doing a good job.  But 5.56 with a 4-5" barrel won't be any better off than a 9mm PDW with the same barrel length.   Especially with +P 9mm ammo.    I am willing to bet the 9mm with +P coming out a 5" barrel would have more energy than 5.56 coming out a 5" barrel.  While it looks cool, I would go 300 BLK or 9mm.  5.56 needs at least 7.5" to maintain effective energy at 100 yards.

I’m having a “blast” with mine with binary trigger.
It’s a 6.25 - 300 BO barrel but I’m most likely going to swap in a 5 inch 5.56 barrel to help with cost of ammo.

It functions flawless in this configuration.

Here is my Micro 65.56, it is a 6.5" Stainless steel barrel in 5.56 with 7" handguard and a KVP Linear comp. Just added a Laws folding adapter. 24" long and 17" folded.

As someone with a binary on a pistol, yes, definitely get the 5.56 barrel. It's stupid fun. Plus the fireball of all that wasted energy is pretty.

Since it's my truck gun, I'm building a 300blk upper to keep on it, and gonna just use the 5.56 upper as a range toy.

Here's my 5 inches.

I went with a 6" handgaurd for a little additional grip. The mini afg from Odin Works handles pretty well. Just waiting on a maxin brace to come in and it'll be complete.

And right after that I changed it up. I just can't leave shit alone.

The Odin Works B1 handstop uses 2 keymod slots and covers most of the third one forward. In the picture above you can see that there is only room for my index finger in front of the afg. Leaves my pinky hanging off the back of the grip.

So, since the keymod nut is on the front of the afg, I ground the rear keymod post down flat, took a bit of material off the back of the afg, and then was able to move it back and secure the front into the rearmost slot in the handgard. I can now grip properly with all my fingers.

Index finger is still quite close to the end of the rail, and closer to the muzzle than I prefer, but I now have a free keymod slot. I need to see about modifying a basic handstop to fit flush with the front of the handguard.
