Curious about USMC issued visible weapon lights around 2012-2015. I understand the PEQ-16A was in circulation, but what else was commonly being used/issued around this time? Were these usually unit purchases or individual? Hoping someone could....shed some light on the subject for me
...I'll let myself out |

Is the spectre gear raider sling clone correct? Or just the BFG sling?

Originally Posted By Metzger31: Is the spectre gear raider sling clone correct? Or just the BFG sling? View Quote Someone with a little more knowledge feel free to correct me... As I understand it, the BFG/Vickers VCAS sling is a relatively recent adoption for the A4 by the USMC, sometime in the '20-teens. Before that, the Spectre gear sling was used, but it seems like slings were never really standardized on the A4 much between the Army/MC. I've seen photos where guys have old black web silent slings, Garand/M14 slings, specter 2/3 points, Viking vtacs, etc. As best I've ever been able to tell, there was a lot of unit/individual purchase of slings so nailing down a single "correct" sling will really just depend on you trying to replicate a particular rifle or a rifle from a certain era. FWIW, my A4 build is geared towards an end-of-the-line A4 used by the USMC around 2015 so I went with the BFG sling and buttstock adapter. It's a little convoluted, but hopefully that helps some. |

My work in progress, not so much a clone but I'm slowly getting closer. What size rail cover for in front of the VFG? 4? 6? Also need find a correct pressure pad for the surefire, sling, and stock pouch as well as an A2 grip. |

The M16A5 concept rifle used a standard KM12 but with a different profile; note the slightly flared section in front for the handguard cap (why??) And the double sets of locking tabs on the bottom. I'm very happy with mine. |

SOMEBODY is reading my thoughts!!
I was staring at this post on Facebook when my phone rings. It’s a Jacksonville, FL number. I normally don’t answer calls from people who aren’t in my contacts list. If a name doesn’t show up when my phone rings, I don’t answer it. I’ve recently purchased a couple of items from people/places in Florida and thought it could have something to do with those, so I answered it. IT’S BLACK CREEK PRECISION ON THE OTHER END! She tells me the same as what this post says and I tell her I want one (don’t need it because I got the 80% lower engraved with FN markings, but I haven’t milled it yet). $115 plus shipping, not too bad in today’s market.
