Thinking on putting together a carbine on an M16A2 rollmarked receiver with US property markings.

I understand that there was a rather rare export variant of the Colt 723, the Colt 725: with a 3 round burst setting rather than auto.

Were there any of these M16A2 carbines with an A1 upper along with US Property markings? (I've definitely seen ones up for sale with the US Property markings, but with an A2 marking, like below:)

And did all of them come with a 2-position buffer tube, or were there 4-position ones as well?

I think the 4pos RE was part of the M4 program. Everything before that had the 2pos RE
