Does anyone know what the actual dia. of a M16A1 gas tube pin should be? The reason I am asking this is because I'm using an A2 FSB on a barrel I received from Del-Ton. I called and they told me the pin dimensions should be 5/64×5/16. I have some 5/64 roll pins and man they sure seem to be just big enough to NOT fit
I'm new to this building retro stuff and didn't realize that this pin comes in a tapered style. Using those dimensions of .081/.312, the ones I have should work. But man they sure seem big to these old man eyes. Thanks gentlemen!

From the first Colt "Model 01", the pin used to secure the gas tube to the front sight has been an MS16562-106 tubular, slotted, spring pin (nominal 5/64 x 5/16).
Thanks for all your help guys. The pin worked perfectly. This thing is so ugly it's actually sexy. Wish I knew how to post pictures here. Again thanks for your help.
