I am planning to do a M653 Carbine and finally found a receiver extension and stock that could be genuine Colt.

I am located in Germany and getting genuine parts locally is almost impossible.

The stock has a "1" and something I can not identify, the receiver extension is mil spec diameter, grey and has 2 holes. Both look like unused.

Sadly the stock is lacking the locking mechanism/lever. Is there any chance to get the missing parts at all?

I am also missing the castle nut.

The buffer looks strange, really strange. I have never seen a buffer like that. It is 3.2 oz heavy and black.

Anyway I could not let these parts go, not here in Germany.

What do you think? Any input is highly appreciated.

Greetings from Germany and have a nice weekend!

Can’t help but I can disassemble and send you a latch assembly.
It’s from a polymer M4 stock so it won’t be clone correct but at least you’ll have a working stock.
Send me an IM if interested

stock/extension looks Colt to me..buffer is not retro if that matters to you

and these stocks don't use a castle nut, they use a 2 hole lock ring

The stock looks very nice and identical to my 1980 SP1 carbine, which is like new (or similar to my XM 177 E2, which is quite worn). Finding the latch might be quite a challenge

I believe the buffer looks quite similar too, I’ll have to take it out to check it.

Looks like the NN inside of a square found on Colt's stocks.

Winner. Colt Newton aluminum stock.

If they won't ship overseas, maybe one of us can buy and ship:

Thank you all for your help. I will ask a friend in Iowa if he can help me with the missing parts, but obviously that is not easy at all.

@Frens: Thank you, I will drop you a PM.

Any idea about that strange looking buffer? It looks a little like a 9 mm buffer, but it is too light for that.

In my opinion, the Buffer is original for Colt 610 carbine!

I had the same problem, plastic lever won't fit, but the locking bolt and nut from a plastic stock will. You can order a metal lever from Essential Arms, I had to buff mine out and powder coat it. If you look close you will notice the difference but it's close enough for me.

On the schematic it's part # 25. You will have to call for a current price.
