Where to find a Colt m4 Waffle stock for my M4 build? How to I.D. a stock to tell if it is made by Colt or another company?

Prepare to not be terribly impressed. I have a brand new 6920 here and I had to make a post on FB trying to figure out if the stock was real. It looked that bad.

Recent stocks have Cage code molded under the lever..
Earlier ones are unmarked.
Even if not marked with Colt Cage code they all come from the same USGi supplier.. so don’t be upset to install a P&S marked stock.

Anyway the front portion on USGI stocks have a 90degree angle cut while commercial stocks are rounded

I'm a normal-stock appreciator, and something else that I noticed recently- the right side "disc" mold insert that used to signal "not USGI" is now present on every stock, including legit P&S (4U486) stocks.

Newest stock bodies are marked 8FW25, Prudent American Technologies (formerly P&S Products), IME.

The disk mark is just a blank insert that can be replaced with any Mfg logo on request.
Simply means that the USGi contractor also use the same mold for other commercial companies.

While the mold is the same there’s the chance a commercial mfg may use non-USGI approved polymer blend

You can find legit Colt M4 waffle stocks everyday here in the EE for about $40-45 average price.

The best deal were the Expo Arms M4 stocks.  Real deal (ones I received were all Prudent) but PA hasn't had 'em in stock for awhile.

The early Colt waffles are the best Colt waffles. The current ones with the big circle mold mark just look cheap.
