How heretical would it be to build a Mk12 chambered in .224V?

Thread needs love!

Added the magpul bipod and replaced the spike buffer with a standard carbine buffer. I now get ejections at 330 so perfectly you could place a bucket and collect brass

This is from an elevated platform shooting out to 700 yards using Magtech 5.56 77gr otm  next time I go out Ill be trying for 800

Makin progress on the Holland.  Still some more cloney-type parts to buy, but it'll at least go pew next weekend at the range.

SPR in action this weekend.  Though wind was pushing me around something bad.  1.5-2moa hold at 600 yards on a 12 inch plate  full value wind that kept chaining directions or not blowing at all. 700 I couldn't hit shit.

I love it. I have a couple 6-24s but wanted a little lower power for the grendel. Soon as I mounted it up I was like mother of god this is awesome.

Nice rifle!  Is that a Larue 13.2 handguard on a rifle gas system barrel?  If so, what gas block are you using?

Thanks!

Yes, it's a LT 13.2 handguard. The barrel is a Rainier and I believe the gas block is a low profile Rainier, as well.

Micro-RECCE build.

6.5 Grendel
12.5” BA barrel
BA bolt
Maxim PDW stock
Larue MBT trigger
Superlative Arms adjustable gas block

Waiting on a green Geissele MK4 Federal 10” rail, Larue LT-204 Mount, BUIS, Surefire M300 Scout, and then an NX-8 after tax season.  LRRPF52 got me onto the concept. Clear a room, step outside and take an 800 yd shot. Have a pile of mags and some ammo on the way. Still gotta pick up dies, projo’s, and powder.

Had an inkling for a modern rifle with that Mk 12 Mod 0 look.  I don't consider it a clone, more like "inspired by"

Lots of parts that should belong on a Mk 12 Mod 0, such as:
PRI handguard
PRI Top Rail
PRI Gasbuster Charging Handle
PRI Gas Block/Front Sight
PRI flip up rear sight
ARMS #22 Rings
ARMS Bipod Mount
Harris Bipod
Allen Engineering Muzzle Break (collar would not fit unfortunately)

Things that I modified to fit my liking:
6.8 SPC II X-Caliber barrel
Aero Precision M4E1 Upper & Lower
Tool craft Carrier
JP Enterprises Bolt
JP Enterprises Silent Capture Buffer
Lower parts kit was meticulously pieced together from various parts.
Magpul grip
Magpul stock
Leupold Mark AR Mod 2 scope - I might update this later.

It took nearly a year for me to piece it together. I love this gun and it is currently the one i'm most proud of.

Thank you!

I’ve got a Mk 12 Mod 1 inspired build in .224 Valkyrie  that I currently working  on as well.

This one I’m very torn on if I should give it some rattle can love or leave it FDE with Black trim...

How about a FDE scope if you are planning to upgrade it, or just paint the one you've got.
Leave the rest the way it is, or finish the black rail, rings, bipod & such in a slightly different shade of FDE.
But leave the black controls and front sight.
