Brake clean takes a lot elbow, acetone works the fastest. I cannot say it will not ruin whatever finish is below the paint since I do not know what is there but a standard anodized AR is fine washed in acetone or brake-clean. After you are done oil it down and hand rub the oil until dry and it will look fine. Just test an inconspicuous spot first. Or just have it cerakoted, I can make you a deal on cerakote work if you want to mail it.

Grafitti remover.
Goof Off might work well too.

I’ve always use non chlorinated brake parts cleaner and scrubbing the hell out of it.  Recently stripped a kryloned rifle using Motsenbokers ( Spelling?) graffiti remover and so much easier

I've always had good luck with Citristrip. The only thing I've ever had Citristrip damage was the rubber plug on a Surefire pressure switch tail cap. Luckily, it was a part I had no real use for and I just cut it off.

Otherwise, it doesn't harm anodizing or most types of polymer (pistol grips, VFGs, etc.).

if you have an air compressor.....spend a few bucks and invest in a Soda blaster.....absolutely the best way to remove krylon without harming any other finishes.

Eds red cleaner also takes paint off pretty well and never had it hurt anodizing.

and straight up acetone will strip it off and shouldnt harm anodizing.

frankly when it comes to krylon, i dont strip it, i just paint over it.
