Wanted to accomplish two things with this a build 1) use as much KAC parts as possible, 2) semi clone correct RECCE. Here’s the result..... waiting on front sight to arrive, just excited as just finished building it.

Does anyone know if the index pin on a 3-prong QDC is replaceable? Picked one up cheap the other day, but the seller didn't say anything about it being boogered up. Looks like someone took pliers to it trying to remove it.

LOL, that happened in a shop i frequent today.

guy brings in his sr15 upper asking if we could "unpin and weld" the 3 prong.

dude took pliars to the index pin trying to yank it out thinking that was a pin and weld job from KAC.

i took it around back and had it off in 5 seconds.

lol

wasnt the worst ive seen.

another was a dude who drilled through the threads of his barrel and pinned the muzzle device on. took it to me to have it chopped since the first shot would have been the barrels last shot.

It can be done, but I think you'd be money ahead to buy a new device.

Well it was only $30. Can't have cans here and I don't have anything to use it on anyway, so I may just try to knock it out or run it as-is.

Love that rifle. Two questions for you:

1. Is that the ATACR or NXS?

2. Do you like the 16" length or do you think you'd prefer a 14.5"?

its the ATACR

If im gonna go under 16" id rather get a 10.3 or 11.5" gun, i had some 14.5s before and decided the length difference from 16 wasnt that big of a deal. Maybe if you only had or only wanted 1 perfect AR then the 14.5 might be a good compromise.

Im not against the 14.5 though, I just wouldnt trade my 16" for a 14.5

Thanks. I'm planning on consolidating my AR's to a 14.5 or 16 " KAC with a NF 1-8x and an MP5 SBR for short work. Leaning towards 14.5" since it'll be suppressed 99.9% of the time.

imo if you have a mp5 sbr then a 16" with a 1-8 would be the perfect match for it.

Completed setup. Got a KAC micro mount for the T1 and MAMS since I last posted my rifle on here and changed out the stock, pistol grip, and handstop for BCM. May replace the T1 for a 1-4 or 1-6 scope later on, but happy with this setup.

I really liked the LMT stock, but I wanted to try out the BCM stock and I put the LMT stock on my Colt 6920 since I'm working on a Block 1.5 build.

I have been actively trying to build an all KAC 11.5" LW-URX/ special run gun for years and finally cobbled this together.  I hope to get to the range sometime next week.

Not sure if it mean much but, in lieu of using zip ties, I use ranger bands to keep the pressure pad wires tight to the rails. I bought a pack from BCM. I also use one on the stock to store the slack on my slings when storing my rifles.

I'm gonna try these on my MK18. BCM is out of stock but looks like Amazon has the same thing for less, just different brand. Appears to be exact same product.

To answer your question above, I really like the Skyscraper after getting used to it. I have a pretty long neck and prefer 1.93 and higher these days. It took some practice and repetition to predict where the dot was going to be when raising the rifle.
