@Brownells

Any plans for any limited capacity mags? 10/20, 10/30 10/25? I know a bunch of people that would buy a butt load of those if you made them, especially aluminium USGI ones.

Currently, the only manufacturer I know that creates limited capacity USGI mags are C products and they're using Stainless Steel mags.

The only creatures happy with 5 round magazines are the hogs in Oklahoma.  Don't worry about the BHO - most folks can count to 5.  It's getting to 23 that gets embarrassing.

I live 160 miles away from your new store. I guess know I'll be there in the next month or so. Hope to see some of these available. I want some 20 rounders and would love to get some of these. I was issued 20 and 25 rounders in the mid eighties. Just like those.

Tell us about these 25 round prototype mags you were issued in the 1980’s.  Who was the manufacturer of your M16's lower?

Any update on the  new run of AR15 waffle mags?

Knew you guys were gonna go make reproductions of the prototype AR15s ever since I saw that CAD drawing of the proto FSB, this 25 round mag, and Nodak saying they were gonna do a new run of proto lowers. It just aaaall added up.

The real question, tho: trigger charging handle uppers?

I have not yet begun processing them as we have to make some more bolt hold latches too.

Any chance you will have any spare bolt latches (I bought one of your lowers on GB without the latch)?

Not to kiss Brownells ass but I don't know how much lower that company can go on a small production run of mags for a niche market and still turn a profit.

Are they that much more expensive to produce than their 30s and 20s?  They use basically the same body style (their 20 is not a traditional 20 body but a cut down 30).  Plenty of people buy the 20s even though they are old school "retro".  Personally, I like the idea of a 25 round mag, and I'd buy them to use, not collect.  If these are priced around the same as their other mags, they should sell a lot of them.  Economics of scale.  Again, I am not sure how much it cost for them to produce these mags, I know they are using the same internals as their other mags though (30 round mag spring, and 20 round follower).

Who said it has to be low volume production / demand?  If it is priced high, it will pigeon hole itself into that role though.  Kind of my point is that if it is priced in line with the other mags, it will sell well and in large volume.  IE, economics of scale.

The body looks identical to a 20, same lines, etc. just extended.  I could be wrong, but it seems as if an existing die could be modified without too much trouble.  Also, the fact that it uses the same followers / springs as their other mags helps.  The body is literally the only piece that is new.

Via another thread, it looks as though they will be producing an AR-15 prototype clone in the future. I’d imagine having to wait until ShotShow to see it. I would expect any production of these FSBs to be put towards those rifles and not be for sale individually until after. In the meantime, if you really want one, you can contact member John Brace. He makes them.
