Target Sports has been getting regular shipments of Lake City M193 and M855. It's contracted straight to target sports, so it's not Federal or Winchester. It's $350/k delivered without a membership. It was cheaper back before the scare.

Is the Fed independence ammo made in Israel at he IMI plant? In early 2000s I could get 1100 rds IMI delivered to my door for $180. It was hot stuff!

Ive got about 500 rds down the pipe, no issues yet... I have not chronoed it. I also have some mags loaded w/ the real IMI(TZZ) headstamp & they a very similar in recoil & blast. I wonder if they use same recipe, but the different brass is responsible for the pressure increase...?

When you want to poke steel armor, Use Independence M193 :D Shit is HOT. IMI M193 was close to it, but per Sam they dialed loads back by a few % because of those above mentioned issues.

Well, mine isn't that hot!
The 2015 and 2016 lots were too hot in my opinion, but my cases are from 2017 when they got things back under control. Some say the earlier lots were in spec, but I don't think they were, way too many complaints of popped primers for there not to have been an issue with either the brass or too much powder. Either way they got it sorted out and I am very satisfied with the performance of it now. |
