I found these 2 AR stock while reorganizing. Can anyone identify the brands? Are they some knock offs? No marks on either of them.
OD of the buffer tube on top one is 1.17 so must be commercial??
ID of bottom stock is 1.147 so must be military.??  Thanks

If you figure out they have a name brand, any idea of reasonable selling price? Knock off I assume have little value.  Thanks

The bottom one is a Colt N1 stock. Look under the lever on the right side. Some of these are not marked. N1 marked stocks sell for $100 +/-. Non N1 marked, a little less.  The castle nut on the tube pictured is $20-30. It’s an earlier nut.

I found an "N" stamped under the lever. So the bottom one looks like a colt. The top has no marking but looks like a colt from photos. Were there knock offs that looked like the colts? thanks

the top stock is commercial.  that small curve under the front wouldn't be there if it were a contracted piece

but it really doesn't matter,  they're both functional as long as they're functional.

I do hope you find some good homes for them

Bottom one may be Colt. Or a reproduction. M&A Parts sells a damn nice copy. If marked" N" or
"1 N" as stated it's Colt. And some are not marked, IIRC.

As for the castle nut...looks to be standard. The retro style have a hole for a spanner wrench as opposed to the notches.

Eta: I see that some do have both holes and notches.

If you look real close, you can see very small circles (mold marks) on the tube part of the stock (each end and the middle). To my knowledge, these are only found on N1's.

The notches in the OP's extension nut are for the staking, not the castle nut tool. Notches are a good thing and it's likely an original.

Just found this old thread and some think the no notch nuts on factory Colt carbines likely came from Colt Canada.
