I'm sure FGMM in 168 or 175g will shoot better than the IMI in most rifles if not all.

IMI match is very inconsistent  and you will start to see it on target at about 650-700 yards. We chronyed some and there was as much as 75 fps variations within the same lot. Needless to say we didn't get anymore but I think it would be an okay alternative if it could be found cheap and only restricted to short and medium range.

I will say as far as Standard Deviation goes. FGMM when I tested it sub 20 in the 168gr flavor. IMI Razor Core was close to 30 :| I haven't tested the IMI for accuracy yet :(

168gr Gold Dot shot slightly better than both FGMM and IMI in my SCAR 17 at 100 yards. I think I bought it from PSA for $0.83/rd. YMMV

No comparison when placed against FGMM 168gr in my firearms.

The FGMM shoots much more accurately.

Sadly, The few FPS gained did not out weigh the accuracy difference.

The same can be said about the CBC / Magtech 168gr... ( poor group size )

As for the chamber question... I wouldn't , Savage chambers tend to be min. spec... and 7.62x51 ammo tends to be a tight fitting "Mil-Spec".

good to know about the savage chambers. havent bought the rifle yet but leaning towards them.

years ago i had a rem 700 that didnt like 762 ammo either. also had an fn spr that didnt care about 762 ammo. wish i had kept that one.
