I need to clean up the metal.

Start by removing the butt plate.
Swing open the door.
Tap out hinge pin with punch and hammer.
Take door , hold in latch and tap out that pin.
Latch and spring should be eased out.
A drop of oil on the latch and spring when you reassemble
