Trying to decide between these two bbls. Both are almost identical I believe as far as specs, but the centurion is a bit lighter. What I'm mostly interested is the one that may be more accurate or if anyone has good experience with either. I'm looking at the 16" versions.

https://centurionarms.com/lightweight-hammer-forged-barrel-midlength/
OR
https://www.spikestactical.com/collections/barrels/5-56-barrel-chf-midlength-16/

Both are...
Cold hammer forged 4150, both have twice chrome lining thickness, both mid-length. Spikes is a lil heavier. But the centurion has the pinned gas block option from the factory with their tabbed gas block.

Both are about the same price.

Which would you choose and why? Thanks for your thoughts.

4150?  Where did you get this information?

Out of the two you listed, I only have experience with Centurion so they get my vote.  Plus, Monty and Corrie are great people.

If you’re referencing the 16in mid barrels, the Lt weight Centurion is 1.8oz lighter than the Spikes.  The Centurion mid weight is 3.9oz heavier than the Spikes.

You can also get polished feed ramps on the Centurion if that’s your jam.

I am wrong. Centurion is machine gun steel 41V45 whereas Spikes is DIN 21CrM0V511 which is proprietary CMV alloy of FN. I'm actually not too sure of the difference there.

41V45 has a lower carbon content than 4150, with added vanadium and molybdenum.

Centurion. They're great people to deal with. Plus, the 16" is in stock... I managed to snag a couple in 2020 and hadn't seen them in stock until recently.

I was leaning towards Centurion and based on the replies I think Centurion it is.

Thanks for the code!

Looks like you've made your decision, but to further solidify it, I also say Centurion.  Great products made by great people.

I have that spike's barrel, it is a tack driver. BIL also has one, his is a tack driver. I liked mine so much, and was impressed with his so much, that I bought another "Just because".

I also have the Spikes Optimal 14.5 CHF.  Mine shoots great too.   I do not own any Centurian. Sounds like you should get the best price.

Can't go wrong with either. Spikes can be had with a pinned block as well.
