Buffers can be used to tune over gassed guns, definitely. Heavier buffers can reduce wear on internal components. Barrel length, gas port diameter, and carrier profile (SA vs FA) also come into play.
Is your gun overgassed? What is your ejection pattern? Are you experiencing abnormal wear of internals? Any reliability issues? |

No reliability issues, ejection is good. I am not sure when to replace a standard buffer and spring though

IIRC, carbine spring should be changed at ~6k.
Inspect for bends/kinks. Measure OAL. Min: 10 1/16 inches Max: 11 1/4 inches As long as the buffer pad/bumper is intact, no worries. Eta: if replacing, check out DAMAGE IND ENHANCED CARBINE SPRINGS. Great kit, rated at +750k cycles. |
