Put the parts kit together yourself.

With the availability of so many great parts from lightweight to ambidextrous to bullet proof designs, why buy a kit?

I've bought CMMG LPK's without a FCG for $20. That's tough to beat.

Next would be SOLGW's blaster guts kit. It's good value.

At the top end, near $100, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another BCM LPK. It not only includes their PNT FCG, but a BCM grip as well.

SOLGW Blaster Kit on sale at Primary Arms $25-30.  No trigger or grip so you can throw in a larue MBT2 etc

All Schmid parts/kns detents

They offer a full customizable kit on their website as well

I’ve used 4 BCM lpk’s and been very happy. Used one of the Sionics kit without fcg or grip last week in a rifle for my dad seemed just as nice as the BCM on the parts that were included.

I've used LPK's from Tom's Tactical, Aero, PSA, RTB, Red X, with or without FCG's and honestly they have all been fine.

Although costly, I use Forward Control Designs selectable LPK. You can get their awesome mag release button, bolt catch, and takedown pins. Nobody uses mil-spec triggers anymore so not a big deal. They also include extra detents and springs that are prone to disappear.

For cheap, the CMMG kits aren’t bad. The only thing that sucks with those is the mag button. Pretty sure they are plastic.

I buy SOLGW these days. Their kit sans fcg is my go to, but their trigger is pretty good too. They also have a customizable option on the site if you want to add specific parts from the get go.

I have been using CMMG for years, they do the kits pretty cheap at certain times of the year so I pick up a few.

I usually get without the LPK and selector if I can(since both are swapped out quickly).

Now I will probably go G if I need any more.

If you've used Stag with no issues, why change?

I like DD and LMT.  Surprisingly, a PSA kit I tried impressed me greatly.

PSA with a QMS trigger and a decent grip.

I’ve gotten so I don’t care for the pre-packaged stuff. I’m ok with standard pins and springs, but don’t keep the standard trigger guard, or trigger group, or grip. Cheaper to select what I want than buy a kit.

Sionics. Various options to include an ambi-safety and their NiB trigger and a MagPul K2 Grip. Pickup at their site or from Primary Arms.

It's hard to beat CMMG especially when you can get a lpk - trigger for $20-25.

CMMG have been sub$50 lately.
RTB stuff is gtg, his triggers are very nice

White Oak Armament...$45 without FCG. You’re probably going to go with an aftermarket trigger anyway...

I’ve always pieced them together myself, but on the last one I did buy a complete lpk from Geissele. Will probably just do that from now on.

I got a Strike Ind LPK (no grip or trigger) for $50 and it has really nice 'custom' style parts and a modular safety that can be configured as ambi or non-ambi and 90* or 60* rotation  It's a good price for what you get.

I've used PSA, unbrandedAR, KAK, DD, anderson, and double star.

DD and double star are my favorites, but all have worked fine for me.I think I'll give the SOLG kit a try on my next build.

Because when you buy a $5 spring and retaining pin you don't want to pay $10 in shipping ...

Just put together my first yesterday, no fitting issues or other issues that you wouldn't expect from a first timer.  $##%$ roll pins...

Used a Joe Bob Outfitters "Enhanced" LPK that had the "no grip but add an Ergo for cheap" and since I'd get an Ergo grip it was well worth it.  The trigger is really nice for such an inexpensive set up.  This is lower #4 so I don't anticipate but maybe one more in the future so I can't say I'll buy again but I'll cheerfully recommend should someone ask.
