Has anyone done a build with these two? My concern is that the barrel will not have enough room for the threads to clear and part of the muzzle device would be covered by the rail.

This should give you an idea.  I'd expect the rail to cover about half the threaded tenon or a bit more.

It will cover part of your threads the rule of thumb imo and from most people is .8.

Thanks!

OP:
It will not completely cover the threads so therefore it won't be over any ports in the muzzle device.

Should be fine.  I have an Mk4 on a 14.5 p/w.  As far as I know all their rails are measured the same.  With 14.5 there's plenty of barrel sticking out, quite a bit more than .600"  The threads shouldn't be under the rail at all.

You have a ~14.5" barrel with a 13.0" rail. OP has a ~13.9" barrel with a 13.5" rail.

My mistake then.  They only show a 13.5" on their web page, which I assumed I had. Sorry for the confusion OP.

They used to only offer the MK4 in 13.0” (yours is clearly that version)

Unless your barrel is ported the ports of the muzzle device will be past the handguard. If you plan on mounting a suppressor make sure the ID of the handguard is larger than the OD of the can. There might be some issue there.

I have 13.9 barrel on a 13.5 mk8 and has not issues when mounting my rc2

I think what the OP is proposing is tight -  I have a 13.7 in with a older 13" Geissele Mk 2 and it is perfect with surefire warcomp and a suppressor, but I dont think that I would want to cut it any closer than that.

14" BA barrel G mk14 13.5" rail. The barrel threads will be under the handguard. I ended up using a .1" spacer to keep the locking caller on the YHM mount from being under the handguard. I also had to take about .1" off the end of the flash hider to work with the Kurz kit and turbo K. It really depends what muzzle device and suppressor you are going to use.

I too have the same question. I just ordered a 13.9 triarc and would love to know if the mk14 or mk16 would work for supressor lockup with a surefire socom.

You have any pictures of this? Seems like a tight fit, what’s the gap look like?
