I read that Geco, S&B and Magtech are all owned by the same parent company. I’ve never seen the Geco DTX ammo but the bullet color doesn’t look like copper clad steel jacket bi-metal bullet. I wonder if that is a flat base FMJ instead of boat tail. Might explain the blunt tip. I bet the BC on that bullet is pretty low.

Interesting... Please let us know how well it shoots for you. It would be nice if its precision was on par with the previous GECO .223 55gr FMJ.
Can you pull a bullet ? I am curious if it is a boat tail bullet or flat base. |

Sure will pull the bullet later and let you know.
It’s not magnetic btw unlike the s&b. Geco website says all ammo are mfg in Germany but I’ve read heard some stuff may be mfg in Hungary or Swiss..? Should be able to function test the ammo tomorrow.. have a new aug that needs to be zeroed |

We have GECO products from Switzerland , Hungary, and Germany ( Mostly 22 LR ) in the USA.
My firearms prefer the Swiss produced ammo over the Hungarian produced ammo. Thank you ahead of time for pulling a bullet. What .223 / 5.56 GGG ammo weights can you purchase ? ... I have only seen the 62gr SS109 5.56 over here. I also have some .308 / 7.62x51 Ball ammo ( 2003 ? ) that is VERY accurate for a FMJ load..... sadly the next batch that came over ( 2013 ) was no where near as accurate as the 2003. The powder and charge weight was different as well. |

I noticed that with my 16" FN 1:7 twist AUG barrel, it took about 100 rounds to get broken in and for groups to tighten up.
Were you shooting from a rest? With my ancient AUG-A0, I get about 1.8 moa groups at 100yds with GECO .223 and the 1.5x donut of death optic |

I got a 150rd box in late spring. Seems perfectly acceptable FMJ range fodder. Reasonable groups, cycled fine.

Nut coal is best coal. Now available in 87lb bags.

Thank you for your detailed reporting.
You might find this link interesting. ( I did ) http://bullpupforum.com/index.php?topic=1494.0 FWIW... If you use the 12:00 position on your Death Donut, as your point of "precision aim... and not give a hoot about where the bullet impacts the target.... you might have easier accuracy. I tend to always allow bullets to impact off my point of aim, just so I don't shoot out my tiny point of aim dot. |
