They were awesome when I called, but the rail wouldn't work with this old Ares/Bushmaster kit and they no longer make the piston rail. No biggie though, I scooped an MI drop in quad off the EE and made it work today. My buddy is using the DD on his SBR so its not a waste in the end.

i ordered a BA 14.5" Middy barrel for my heavily gwot m4 style setup. easier access to gas, keepin it 14.5" and better gassing should all be nicer. I adore this ACOG/14.5" setup. this is my go to non Mk12 dude.

Long boi Mod 5 or 7? I bought a 5 kit from Thoroughbred and sourced a correct prefix R700 action but I’m debating on bailing on the project. Was planning to deviate on the can and have the barrel profiled for AEM5-30.

Mod 5. I got the rifle free from my pops a while back on the condition I do something cool with it. Ended up with a MARS in a trade deal. I'm in this deep, might as well see it through! If you decide to bail, you know my info!

We will see. I think the Mk13 is badass but I don't know how much I'd take advantage of what .300 WM offers. Plus last year was an expensive year of projects.

Is it real, organic, free range penis, or medically altered by a pronoun person.

As for thick skin I own an m1a socom......im permanently on blast, cowboy shit comes natural, and 2 fingers proper ftw. Ill have to work on that bipod requirement though.

I have 4 cans of paint waiting for me to get the deer skinned in the garage and setup a heater so I can Bob Ross this bitch. Still haven't even shot this thing.

I do plan on going DI for sure. I'm torn on going to a different stock simply for the fact that NJ requires pinning them in a fixed position and the LOP on the A2 feels good. Maybe an A1....Idk I like the adjustable looks better, but gain little other than looking moar cool. Right now im loading up on ammo/mags before I get too crazy and DI parts are next.

ik of some new modstocks around....i might snag one for a some day 18" build....

this is the second 95% GI parts m1a i got. the shughart clone is a preban 66k sn, and this one is an 88k sn just barely post ban one. LGS man. one a buddy found and held for me, they priced it way too low..TRW bolt/barrel, winny oprod. this one they thought it was broken and reduced it, and they had a 10% off sale on top....the clip guide rollpin was in too far and held the bolt up LOL. trw bolt, winny barrel, hra oprod are worth 1k alone.

You guys running 18 spr barrels on carbine lowers what spring buffer do you run? Having short stroking with a standard carbine buffer and spring 18 ballistic advantage spr fluted. Gas block is perfect rings are good, gas key is good and tight. Bolt was new.

my gas hole was .050" off of location. that was my issue. i opened it to .100" and it still sucked. i got an RMA for a return and never got the label for it.  it was an 18" SPR from ar15discounts.com. so bummed. i milled it for the PRI gas block and it was perf too :(

I seem to recall the original SPR spec was around .099. I think the rifle length system is going to generally be less sensitive to over gassing than shorter setups, but I'd start around .099-.01 and go up if you need. If you're running a can then I doubt you'll need to go any bigger. Mine cycled wolf steel case in 20deg weather with no can, which was certainly good enough for me. IIRC that was with an H1 buffer with carbine buffer tube. When drilling it out, get a brass or steel rod that is around .2" and slide it down the barrel to make sure you don't drill through into the other side. I was surprised at how easy it was, if you have the right tools then don't sweat it at all.

that rifle is badass.
and shit me and you both, ive been a G fan forever.
ive got Mk2's, Mk8's, Mk14's, Mk16's, ALG's and none of them have ever looked like this recent rail that i ordered.
maybe all of our older rails will be sought after. like most of the GWOT parts we all hunt down lol

It doesn't feed the next round or lock back on last with  55 gr 223 brass of different types. M855 winchester green tips run flawless. I think he just needs better ammo. Winchester cycled normally with a standard and H buffer.

I would like my rifles to shoot .223 and 5.56mm pressure ammo.

Incremental enlargement of the port is an easy fix and something you can do at home.

I only ask here because the GWOT guys  seem to try different setups and are cool dudeshttps://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/463612/20220122_221514_jpg-2251832.JPG

How big is the port?
Define short stroking.

It doesn't feed the next round or lock back on last with  55 gr 223 brass of different types. M855 winchester green tips run flawless. I think he just needs better ammo. Winchester cycled normally with a standard and H buffer.

I'd open it to .100 with a reamer.

Drill bit is going to be not fun and sloppy.  You have to keep in mind you're only enlarging the hole by .007.  That means only .0035 of the bit is actually doing work.  This is exactly what reamers are for.
