Sionics 12.5 mid gas is what I would choose. I'm also an 11.5 owner.

Lol my light was in a bad spot and I couldn’t take off the suppressor. I have since moved it. All I own are 20” and 16” barrels. Need to get something light and handy with a dot.

This is my go-to for SD/HD.

Just recently I've gotten into helmet mounted NV so I've added a LAM and will be either swapping optics or getting a riser for the eotech. I really like the XPS2 even under nods, but I've got an aimpoint PRO that would work well for this rifle too.

I've had a TA31, PST II and a couple different dots on it and I've come to settle on just a dot/holo for my needs.

Currently,

BCM 14.5" middy
P&W with ASR FH
DD Quad
Pri rear sight

EOTECH xps2
OTAL-C ir w/switch
Soon to add surefire IR/WH light to replace WML on off side

Aero lower
RR match, two stage
B5 stock
Ferro Slingster

I've updated my setup recently. This is probably the fifth upper I've had on this BCM lower at this point. The new upper is a BRT 11.5" Optimum hammer forged with a FCD RHF-C 9.5 handguard and a Geissele REBCG. It's a very smooth and well balanced rifle. Can't wait for my Turbo 3 to get out of jail as I plan to use that primarily and relegate the K to backup duty.

Oh my, a fellow WAR enjoyer. Not too many of us, ingenious as it is. Is that an 11.5" barrel? What barrel gas port size did you end up with? My 12.5" carbine needed an 0.0886" (2.25mm bit) port to get it just right.

My absolute favorite. I built a different one to be my "go to" and it's a great gun, but this one just called to me, so I completely re-did it with a criterion barrel and a bunch of other quality parts. Now it's what it deserves to be.

Pulled the XPS for a TA01, now I just need to get the piggyback added.

I've been really tempted to throw my PEQ 2A but the otal is holding strong.

I've thought about replacing that light for a long time (even when the gun was a more budget beater). It just refuses to give me a reason why I need to. It's the perfect size for the gun and it refuses to break. I keep hoping, but so far nothing

It's an 11.5. I'd like to have gone 12.5, but I bought the barrel to replace an 11.5 and it fit the handguard so good I couldn't bring myself to add that inch. Then I ended up building a whole new upper for it anyway and could have gone 12.5, but it was too late. Oh well, I like 11.5. Balances beautify with the can. Even without a mag in it the balance point is right at the front of the magwell.

Nice. I would have suggested the CD Rein 3.0 blemish going for $299 right now but that'll work too

Middle one is probably the one I would go with even through the 11.5" G Doody is more capable with the ACOG. I just love my DD MK18. The Mod 0 is newer to me and feels better tuned with the gas but it's an older style of build and you feel it. It's a good half pound heavier than the Mod 1.

Really any of these are great. I love these three rifles.

All very nice. If the DD is your thing, swap optics and put the acog on there. I played musical optics a couple of weeks ago and I think it really made everything fall into place. I swapped optics between 3 ARs and I think in the end they're all better for it.

SBR’d a few more lowers recently and decided to set up a primarily indoor backup shorty. Most of my surefires, streamlights, etc. are living on other rifles right now, so I started digging through my parts bins and found this nifty Crimson Trace VFG I bought many years ago. It’s a bit long and the white light is a dismal 200 lm, but still adequate for its intended role. Hell, I’d forgotten how bright the green laser is - it may as well be a flashlight on its own.

I question whether this VFG laser/light unit would stand up to years of extended rough use in the field, however it’s quite sturdy and durable enough for my intents. I used it a lot after I bought it many years ago and it always held zero perfectly. I had forgotten all about this thing, glad I found it.

I've actually got a spare ACOG with RMR that doesn't have a home currently. I think if I did put the bulkier optic on my Mod 1 it might ruin it for me. I love the lightweight nature of it currently at well under 8 pounds fully kitted.

Someday I'd like to try at 10.3" with a lightweight profile barrel and a slim lightweight MLOK handguard.

Absolutely this. Musical optics and even musical stocks too. I have extra Trijicon ACOG's of various models, extra different types of Aimpoints, and post drama Eotechs for doing exactly as you've described.

Get an Aimpoint M5B or a t2 and move that 10.3 to an 11.5 and you'd haver something very special, more maneuverable, and with better ballistics.

I've got an 11.5 KAC CQB Mod 2 with an Eotech that is close to that. It's lovely. I don't have the rounds on it yet but there's something special to me about the 10.3" builds that doesn't reflect the specs, etc. They just feel right.

Also my G Doody is an 11.5" but it's got the ACOG on it. I like it there. Weight wise it comes out exactly the same as my Mod 0 but I'm using older heavier parts on the Mod 0 because I want that look.

I've got a 10.3 (well technically my girlfriend does, but I built it). I prefer the handling of my 11.5s. They just feel "right" to me. I know it sounds dumb with the minimal difference, but for me it's there.
